The irony of this being in an Ole Miss thread lol.

There is a large contingency of LSU fans who have not been enamored with Frank for a long time.

For reference, the ones who stan Frank are the same ones who want Orgeron on staff. Most of us recognize Kevin Smith is an outright upgrade & the reason Frank was given his walking papers.

The only Kiffin hire worthy of criticism so far is OL coach, but a fence post would’ve been an upgrade from Brad Davis so I will let that one play out.

I agree if I had my way Frank would take a Director of Recruiting role at LSU and Kevin Smith would run RBs. But Frank wants to coach.

I trust Kiffins choice here. Smith is just the better coach. And Nike NIL money will get the kids. Relationships matter less in this new era. Not saying they dont matter at all, but the money moves these kids more now (see Stewart kid).

LSU fans are acting like Ole Miss offered Frank the HC position. He’s a RB coach.

OM fans will come to find this out the hard way

Money and development matter infinitely more than a "great recruiter" coach now.

LSU ultimately made Frank, and he never became a coach of RBs, just a recruiter who has little value now in the NIL era. We will have not had a single notable RB here his last 4 seasons under his current watch and not a single one drafted .Meanwhile the guy replacing him has coached guys like Kewan Lacy and Quinshon Judkins recently.

Frank has had a plethora of 4 and 5 star talent here the last 4 years and turned them into nobodies. Not a single draft pick in 4 years at LSU this go-around. First time thats happened for that length or more since 1992-1998.

Dude, why do you think Kiffin was so successful in Oxford? Do you think it was just a happy accident?

Frank was made by LSU in a by-gone era at this point, you will figure that out pretty quick.

We lost 0 NOLA recruits we wanted in the coaching changeover despite them knowing Frank was leaving and the 5-star from NOLA in 2027 class has been committed to Texas for a bit now. Frank's value is basically nothing now.

It was Kiffin at Ole Miss that was throwing money and developing players pre clearinghouse wild west style. They are not finding out the hard way...they have know it for a few years now.

Now, Ole Miss gloating about taking a rb coach/recruiter in the era of money and development is kinda weird but ok.

I haven’t seen a lot of gloating from OM fans about hiring Wilson. I’ve seen a lot of LSU fans writing dissertations on why Wilson has actually been terrible all these years.

LSU fans have been bitching about Frank Wilson's coaching for a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG time.

You can tell when Ole miss fans enter and have no clue about LSU football. The just think they stuck it to LSU. Austin Thomas and Frank's time at LSU were avg at best the last 2 or 3 years at LSU.

You do realize he coached at Ole Miss before he ever coached at LSU right? He was pretty much the only coach worth a shite in the Orgeron era and was a big part of getting the players that Houston Nutt was able to have some success with. The truth is if Lacy ends up going to Bama, Michigan, Texas or whoever ponies up the most cash, I'd bet most LSU fans would have preferred to keep Wilson over Kevin Smith.

Not necessarily. LSU still has 5 star Berry as well as Durham. LSU just needed someone to coach them. Getting Lacy is a plus no doubt, but its not like the cupboard is bare at LSU.

The reason Wilson was around was for recruiting. They money does that now. So now you have a RB coach that hasn't been good at coaching the backs and his main talent, recruiting, has been overshadowed by all the cash and NIL deals.

Now I look at Smith and yeah the production is there. LSU will get the kids with money. Smith just needs to develop, which he has. Hence Frank and the by gone era comment.

And its true. Terrible at his job as a RB coach. The value was always as the NOLA recruiter. And that is starting to slip now too. The kids care about other things than relationships now.

The problem has been your O line..that's why your QB got hurt and you couldn't run the ball

The QB was hurt before the season started.

RB production has been downhill for 4 consecutive years.
