good for frank to bite the bullet. the other 13 coaches should pay his fine

I would tend to agree here.

I have liked Frank since he was at K-State. I applaud him for his response. The other basketball coach at that school should take that approach instead of calling the league's director of officiating before a game to try to get a crew assigned that is perceived by that coach to be "fair".

PFF should grade them like they do football players and publish it. Then there would be some sort of statistical record to show that a ref actually is bad consistently.

You cant start letting coaches question calls from officials in any sport imo. The instant you do that, the instant that refs start getting afraid of calling fouls.

It is what it is. Basketball is a fast moving sport and refs try their best to officiate it...fans are always going to be unhappy when they lose. The league tries to keep it check with the threat of fines....otherwise you open a Pandoras Box with everyone complaining.

Baseball is the same...you shouldn't argue balls and strikes...usually an ump will even out the calls for both teams.

Mizzou fans are whiners....that's a given...we won, get over it. Buy your own refs next time

I'm a firm believer that not only should coaches be allowed to speak about officials

And officials should be allowed to speak openly about coaches that badger them all game/every game over every call. Maybe the league should mike the coaches and listen to them for a season.

saturday, against ugay, was the best officiated game that AU has had this whole season....it was even-handed all the way through....the updyke game was pretty well officiated,also....but you are right, the rest of the games were kinda' mystifying,to be honest....there have been a good many calls, both for and against AU, just hard to figure

Martin is clearly not a fan of that ref and maybe he is justified (don't know enough about the guy), although the foul in question appeared to be correct on replay if I am thinking of the right sequence where Silva tried to block a shot.

Same ref called four fouls on Silva ... two of which were just horrible shitty calls.

You forgot the blocking call on Silva two minutes into the game where he clearly had position by more than two feet from the drive.

Even the announcers were calling BS on that one.

Sure you can. If the refs aren’t completely incompetent, it won’t happen that often and it will largely be a sideshow. If the refs really suck, pointing it out will become an issue to the league and they will fix it or they won’t.

He should have got his $ worth and said, "It's great to be in a league that has become one of the best in college basketball, it is just too bad that our refs wouldn't be employed by a pickup youth league."

I agree with you. You can see why coaches try so hard to never mention the refs in post game press conferences. The comments Frank Martin made weren't even that bad and he has to pay 25k for it. You could buy a new car with that.

Criticize SEC officials, another Bama FB player gets a new Dodge Charger. Its in the rules.....
