re: Fox Sports - Alabama actively plans an "atrocious schedule" and gets away with it

Y'all bitch about everything. If it isn't the home schedule it's Jalen.

There is nothing fairer than playing a team on a neutral site field with equal ticket allocations...it can't get fairer than that!
There is nothing tougher than playing an OOC team on their home field, which Alabama refuses to do, doesn't get any tougher than that.

Click bait, not their fault FSU fell apart and college football is down as a whole.

Saban is 100% to blame for this. The Penn State series was scheduled back in 2005. They had home and homes set up with Michigan State and Georgia Tech but ended up cancelling both of those series and there's been zero whispers about a home and home ever since. Saban was the one who started this neutral site nonsense and then he has the gall to bitch about Bama fans not being enthusiastic about their home schedule. It's ridiculous.
I totally agree. Like I said in my above post, the neutral games make complete sense for Alabama and Saban if the committee won't call him out on it. But Saban and UA could care less about the fans. That's the problem you get when you have a 30,000 person waiting list for season tickets. I too get tired of hearing Saban gripe about empty seats and fans leaving early. We play a boring schedule. What does he expect? It should be a wake up call that people who pay thousands for season tickets aren't even coming to the games and can hardly give away their tickets.

Has anyone thought about the possibility that Alabama has a hard time finding a P5 that will schedule a Home and Away?
Posted on 11/2/17 at 9:37 pm to TrueTigerTale
What an idiot. FSU is a big time game. It’s not their fault the sec is arse this year

Wonder if Klatt realizes that Bama's two G5 opponents are probably going to play for the Mountain West championship?

That's ridiculous. We had home and homes scheduled with Michigan State and GT and then we canceled it because they refused to give in to our demands to change it to a neutral game. Any team in the country would get on their knees to host Alabama in their home stadium. It's much easier to find home and home opponents than neutral ones.
I get chills just thinking about how awesome it would be to play Ohio State in the Horseshoe or Michigan in the Big House. Maybe Nebraska in Lincoln? Texas in Austin....Not to mention getting to see those teams in Tuscaloosa in a night game. Remember how great that home and home was with Oklahoma back when Fran/Shula was coach?

Saban was the one who started this neutral site nonsense

I went to both. I’ve enjoyed the neutral site games just as much. Wouldn’t mind alternating between such games. Or even both in the same season.

There was an article during the off season about Saban and Byrne meeting to discuss adding a P5 Home and Home while retaining the neutral site kickoff.
Either way it's to go to a 9 game conference schedule, not that adding another east team outside of UGA would help with SOS.

That's the same Joel Klatt that said UT is a more attractive coaching gig than A&M because A&M has to play Alabama every year. (Give it a second.)

I wouldn't go to the Louisville game in Orlando next year if you gave me free flights and free tickets. What a joke of a so called college football game. An NFL game in London would be more exciting.

Yea, but we win the SEC every year so we must beat somebody. Doesn't hold water. We beat some bad teams but we beat good ones too.

And that would be fine. Just mix it up a little. Or play a neutral game in San Francisco, Miami, NYC, Denver, etc. Give me a reason to drop a grand and travel to the game. There's only so many times I can have fun in Atlanta and Dallas.
And yes, yes, yes to playing 2 major non-conference games. Saban has been the verbal cheerleader for P-5 teams only playing P5 teams but he is taking the "you first then me" approach to it. He could at least be on par with other teams who play 2 every year like UGA, FSU, Florida, etc. Right now he is all talk no action. Right now we are a supposed dynasty that is about as scared of adversity as 2000s USC was.

This is the problem. These neutral site games aren't about you or the fans. It's about the program.
