The lack of home and away games, like most other teams, completely sails over your head.

Very flawed, disingenuous argument. Every other team in the top 10 plays 10 P5 ges because they play a 9 get conference schedule while the SEC plays only 8.

We can recruit Florida, Georgia, and Texas just fine without having to play games in Dallas, Orlando, and Atlanta.

That may be true now, but it wasn't true when half of those games were scheduled.

It's going to be funny when all of the talking heads at Fox and ESPN talk about how Bama's schedule is weak, and then they proceed to beat every team by double digits to win another NC.

If this narrative gets pumped enough then it will work to Saban's favor, like the opposite of rat poison.

aban is 100% to blame for this. The Penn State series was scheduled back in 2005. They had home and homes set up with Michigan State and Georgia Tech but ended up cancelling both of those series and there's been zero whispers about a home and home ever since. Saban was the one who started this neutral site nonsense and then he has the gall to bitch about Bama fans not being enthusiastic about their home schedule. It's ridiculous.

GT, not Bama, asked out of that series. Dantonio and Saban are good friends. Bama has beaten Michigan State 87 -7 in the last two games. They were not going to remain good friends at that pace. Enough was enough.

Power 5 “neutral site” game in the South

1 FCS team

Wtf? You couldn't be more wrong. Newsflash, pal: Camp Randall and the Carrier Done aren't neutral sites, and they sure as hell aren't in the South.

It's an utter disgrace that not only is Alabama going to open 2019 in Atlanta against Duke...fricking Duke...they're going to charge postseason prices to see a really bad team.

I resent that I'll never get to see Bama play in South Bend, Ann Arbor, or Columbus. I envy the hell out of Georgia fans this year.

The Alabama fan base hasn't had a chance to experience traveling to a P5 non-SEC campus since 2011. That's fricking ridiculous. Awesome road games to college campuses is what college football is all about. If I want to see Jerry World, I will go to a Cowboys game. And Jesus Christ I feel like we play more games in Atlanta than in Tuscaloosa. Atlanta is like our new Legion Field. We play all our big games there and have a shite home schedule in Tuscaloosa.

Name another fan base that has had to travel to more playoff and bowl games in the last 9 years than Alabama.

That shite adds up. A quick 3 hour drive to Atlanta is a hell of a lot easier on the wallet than an away game to Norman, Columbus, Austin or Ann Arbor.

I don't think so, pal. The exposure Alabama gets in the Atl., Dallas, Orlando, etc. recruiting areas is extremely important and helpful, and also, they all carry the national television spotlight on prime time....and did I mention the huge paydays that Alabama gets for participating?....I guess that must have sailed right over your head, huh?

Then stay home. I'll go, and so will a lot of other fans. You hear Oklahoma fans bitching? Hell no.

Yep (other than the ACC). And we can't use the old argument of the SEC being so tough that our 8 is better than their 9 anymore.

You can tell we're spoiled when you see a bunch of us bitching about having to go all over the country to the prime time OOC games, bowl games and playoff games!

What is to gain from playing a game in Ann Arbor or Norman?

Absolutely fricking nothing. Neither Oklahoma nor Michigan produces players that are worth wasting time on.

The states of Florida, Texas and Georgia cumulatively have over 100 four and five star recruits every season.

We can still play the likes of Michigan, Florida State, Virginia Tech, etc. and still maintain the same strength of schedule while reaping the recruiting benefits.

You can't be this fricking dumb.

They were pretty fricking salty last year when Ohio State walked into their house and beat the shite out of them.

What looks worse to the CFP committee? Losing at home or a neutral site? I already know the answer so I'll share it with you. Losing at home.

Why put the program in that position? You'd be willing to jeopardize a potential playoff spot over getting to spend a weekend in Norman, Oklahoma?

Awe bullshite. We're not gonna pick up some recruit in Atlanta just because we played there instead of Columbus. You don't think that game will get a huge national spotlight?

This was a valid argument in 2008 and 2009 when we were just starting to string together these recruiting classes and before we were making a gazillion dollars a year. Not any more. It's fricking bullshite. Teams making as much money as us do it.

You obviously don't have a clue as to the recruiting benefits, and need to talk to some folks who do it for a living so you can get an accurate idea of its significance.

Actually, we do. It means a lot to the kids from Georgia to be able to have a bunch of friends and family to be able to come see them play less than 2 hours from home.

Before 2008 our recruiting in Georgia was abysmal. There's a reason Saban lobbied for those games in Atlanta and it sure as shite wasn't due to making sure fans had a good trip.

Would it help if you knew the 100% Neutral Site policy occurred because of an attempt to match USC and Bama in the 2013 or 2014 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff classic? It did!

The cancellation of the 2013-2014 GT series, at GT's request, led to Bama's 100% Neutral Site policy. At the time Bama had a 3-year H/H/NS policy in effect. After GT in '13-'14, they had '15 open for a NS, had MSU scheduled for '16-'17 and had '18 open for a NS.

When the GT series was cancelled, it just so happened that Gary Stokan of the Atlanta Sports Council had a tentative agreement with USC (read Pete Carroll) to play in the Atlanta game in either 2013 or 2014, USC's (read Pete Carroll's) choice. USC's (read Pete Carroll's) prefered opponent was Bama. The GT series cancellation opened the door for Stokan to make that happen.

When Carroll left USC so did the tentative agreement. Stokan, of course, was in negotiation with Bama for both years and wound up contracting Bama for both years. At some point during or after those two years, Saban decided he preferred the NS games. It was then that the MSU series was cancelled and Bama went with a 100% NS policy.

Your dumbass can't see the forest through the trees and you want to call someone else stupid?

Where do you think these All-Americans we sign come from?

Yeah, your fricking stupidity. Playing those games hasn't hurt the Ohio States one bit. Going to Auburn didn't hurt fricking Clemson last year, did it? How'd that turn out? You seriously think Clemson's recruiting is suffering because they went to Auburn? I'm not sure, but I seem to recall that they had a pretty successful year last year.

Have fun at that Duke game, kid.
