I was just talking about CFP era
Yeah, but it's a valid point and applies to A&M too if you think about it...

2002 LSU was rolling along, lost their QB mid-season and kinda floundered the rest of the way (Saban infamously kept running Mauck up the gut against Fla in a blowout win). That team was probably headed for 10 wins otherwise.

A&M went 8-4 with a walkon at QB last year. You put even Max Johnson back there, and I think you get to 10 wins. And Max should be the backup, as I understand.

In both cases, the 8 win season was a false low, due to injuries.

I picked Ole Miss as more likely than A&M, that's because I put more stock in Kiffin than Jimbo. I don't know what Ole Miss has returning, they might be crap. But he's probably good for 30 pts a game against half the schedule, regardless of talent.

Utah is better than USC, Texas, Penn State, Wisconsin, Miami, Pitt, NC State, Wake Forrest, Baylor, or Oklahoma State. A&M is more likely to lose 4 than just 1.

Seriously, how TF does Texas go from 5-7 to a championship contender in one year?

Likely 4 teams that have been stacking talent:

USC - easiest path
A&M - tons of talent
Iowa/Wisconsin- just because 1 of these are almost always in the B10 title game and it’s a matter of time before they can pull it off.
Okst - they’ve been close a couple times.

Don’t see Texas doing it with likely SEC 1 & 2 in it as well as Big10 # 1. I’d say slim to zero it’s gonna be the Horns.

If only the CFP started 2 years prior, Will Muschamp would have an appearance.

Wake Forest is the smart pick, USC or Utah are good too. In the SEC probably Ole Miss, in the Big 12, Baylor. big 10 Wisconsin .

Whorns are always all hype and no substance. Too many local distractions and booster interference. And bad coach choices. Mack was last good coach

The Texas Longhorns' Class of 2019 is straight loaded.

They bout to be a problem not just in the Big 12 but in the country for a long time to come.
