Allegedly.

quote:

Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette has reportedly drawn the ire of the team’s coaching staff by letting himself get out of shape this offseason.

Longtime Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times said on his podcast that Fournette, who is listed at 228 pounds, actually weighs about 30 pounds more than that.

“The last time we saw Leonard Fournette he was about a donut shy of 260,” Stroud said. “He certainly didn’t look like a guy who could play every down.”

Got paid and got fat. I’ve seen this story from an NFL RB before.

Chubb still better. Always was.

LSU fans "we'll see in the NFL" and here we are seeing it.

Can he break the 4.0 YPC mark for the 3rd time in his career this year?

I do not think he will.

He’s had a fine career with a Super Bowl ring. Crazy that he has outproduced Henry in three out of six seasons as a pro.

Definitely crazy considering Fournette only has 5 pro seasons to his name.

Seasons where Henry outproduced Fournette:
2018
2019
2020
2021 (despite being out 6 games)

Seasons where Fournette outproduced Henry:
2017

LSU fans love to use total yards as a measure of productivity, nevermind the sub-4.0 YPC and not ranking inside the Top 30 in that category in multiple years, which is inarguably the most important stat for a RB.

You give me enough carries and I’d “outproduce” them both. It might be 0.001 YPC, but I’d outproduce the frick out of them.

If you include receiving yards, then Forunette gained more yards total in 2017 and 2021. Despite playing all 15 games to Henry's 9 in 2021, he managed to only equal Henry's TD total. In all other seasons save 2017, Henry was responsible for more TDs. From 2018-2020 Henry had double and triple the number of TDs.
