He wanted the aelansaa job when we hired bert. He waited until we hired him before taking the auburn job. If he was willing to choose Arkansas the first go around why wouldn't he choose us now? This doesn't mean Arkansas is the better school just means sometimes guys wanna coach at home

You might not know this, but Auburn isn't in the Ozarks. Think Gus will move there just for the Art Museum according to your brethren.

I could see Gus leaving for a SEC east school that doesn't have to play Bama every year. Or even running from the SEC like Myer did. By making a lateral move to Arky, he will just lose to Bama mid season as opposed to end of season. Why even bother?

OK so if he takes the Arky it is only because he can't handle the pressure from Auburn. :
I am sorry Arky fans, but Auburn is simply a better job and I can't see him leaving Auburn for Arky. He is clearly using his Arky connections to see if he can get better deal from Auburn.

I don't see why the Auburn Men on here are getting so worked up over this. The guy is from Arkansas if he leaves Auburn to go home it isn't a big deal. Would be no different if Coach Saban left to go coach at West Virginia. So what? It is a Power 5 job where you can win a NC. It isn't like he would be leaving for Arkansas State.

Overall you are right, but there are a lot of factors thrown in for each individual coach. They are never the same across the board. This is coming from someone who doesn't want Gus.

Long told me he held out hope of hiring Gus until the morning of December 4, 2012, once Gus told him Auburn offered he executed Bert, his back up plan.

I agree that this is a strong possibility. I always had a feeling from the first day we hired him that Arkansas was always his first choice. As an Auburn man through and through, I understand that and if he chooses that I will have no harsh feelings. If he doesn't go this year he will probably never go. But Gus has also got to know that if he leaves, this will continue to happen:

2017/10/21 Auburn 52 - Arkansas 20
2016/10/22 Auburn 56 - Arkansas 3
