Cliff notes version: Brian Kelly forced a kid into a scissor lift to film his practice with unsafe conditions and the result was the kid died. It was his call, and Notre Dame was found liable for causing the death.
Effectively he made the call that resulted in a dead student.... so calling him a murderer is pretty legit.
