And on the next at bat he homers off Skenes. Let’s not call him Nolan Ryan just yet.
So one of the best players in MLB homered off a rookie.

Cool.

Haha, right? They’re both pretty good. Just makes me laugh that the original comment is that we shouldn’t praise Skenes too much because the literal best player in professional baseball hit a home run off of another MLB player

That damn Jared Jones is killing it at first base for LSU and pitching for the pirates too.

Oh and if Skenes stays healthy he is going to be an all star for many years. It just looks effortless when he pitches. He doesn't seem to overthrow.

I heard the same from a guy working at a Burger King 25 miles north of 30A.

Can't believe this is the same guy Texas was able to hit 2 years ago when he was at Air Force

LSU coaching staff could not have done a better job of developing him into a full-time pitcher (he hit really well in his Air Force days, too)

Praise would be fine but you guys are acting like he is a hall of famer already.

Don't be so damn jealous! Baseball- hell, all sports- always loves rookie sensations. I'm old enough to remember when Fernando Valenzuela was a rookie with the Dodgers (way before social media), they made a Mexican song they played when showing his highlights.

Some weekly sports magazine I used to get had a 2 page "Reggie Bush Tracker" section in every addition during football season, even though Bush was frankly mediocre.
Skenes ain't mediocre, he's a phenom. I'd say that if he had gone to a different school, or straight out of high school.

He looks more menacing in black
He's a generational talent.

After Spencer Strider's injury, I just assume all these regular 99 MPH+ guys are going to get TJ at least once in their careers.
