To hear that, you would think the it’s complete nonsense and entirety of the SEC offices are smoking crack!
Or Sankey has murdered everyone and it’s a hostage situation. So I have a hard time believing that to be true.
And I’m sure she has some foundation for her legal arguments.
It must fall somewhere in the middle….

I'm becoming more of the opinion that the SEC is just throwing everything at the wall and hoping something sticks.

Yeah, well the SEC got put in a situation where they have to do SOMETHING.
Because that Baton Rouge judge already decided the SEC was worthless…
Might as well see if Federal Court thinks so also…

So the SEC's position is we will file suit against LSU and have our members to vote on their expulsion for a rule they did not break?

No, the NCAA is a voluntary association.
The SEC doesn't have a monopoly or anything that can be called as such to trigger anything related to anti-trust.

Even though the judge told the SEC to go away, LSU still left the players off the roster out of precaution. In a way, the SEC won. Their rules are being enforced (at least by LSU).

The only reason LSU didn't break the rule is because the SEC filed the lawsuit.

The Yahoo piece seems to argue that they've been in this place plenty of times, they just decided to go nuclear now.
Sankey being this reactionary can't bode well.
If there's no real evidence that LSU coerced these players into filing suit, and if they never actually broke any rules, the SEC looks like a bunch of clowns voting a founding school out on what they "felt" might happen. No one will be safe in that environment.

Doubtful, LSU was more worried about potential CFP repercussions than this ridiculous 1A suit that won't even stand.
