It's funny how Alabama seems to be the only school that gets ridiculed for claiming even a single non-AP national title when all 5 of the titles listed for Iowa in the OP for example are non-AP national titles.

This is true. Look at UT, they claim 6 but have 2 real ones.

Auburn - 2

Actually, Auburn: 5

In the past, Auburn claimed two National Championships in football: 1957 and 2010.
Now, the Tigers claim three additional years that the NCAA had already recognized them as the champion: 1913, 1983 and 1993.

Did it change this year because the below text is from your media guide last year, page 6.

National Champions

Auburn football was national champion in 1957 and 2010. The 2010 Tigers won the BCS National Championship by going a perfect 14-0 behind Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and Lombardi Trophy winner Nick Fairley and a veteran senior class. The Tigers defeated Oregon 22-19 in the National Championship Game as placekicker Wes Byrum kicked a 19-yard field goal as time expired, capping a 73-yard drive. In 1957, Auburn went 10-0 under legendary coach Ralph “Shug” Jordan as the Tigers’ dominating defense only allowed 28 points combined the entire season. Auburn, ranked No. 1 by the Associated Press, blanked Alabama 40-0 in the season finale.

Harvard and Princeton

It wasn’t a national sport back then, so those titles are more like just conference titles.

Hell, Florida, UGA, and LSU all have 3 since 1985 and Oklahoma has 1, and they aren’t blue blood.

Okay I'm gonna need an Auburn poster to explain their 1993 claim considering they were banned from postseason play.

Alabama - 18 nattys
Michigan - 12 nattys
Notre Dame - 11 nattys (Nearly irrelevant, Coach left for SEC)
USC - 11 nattys
mighty Pitt Panthers - 9 nattys (Irrelevant)
Ohio St - 8 nattys
Minnesota - 7 nattys (irrelevant)
Oklahoma - 7 nattys
Michigan St - 6 nattys (Irrelevant)
Tennessee - 6 nattys
Cal - 5 nattys (Irrelevant)
Illinois - 5 nattys (Irrelevant)
Iowa - 5 nattys (Irrelevant)
Nebraska - 5 nattys (Irrelevant)
Miami fl - 5 nattys (nearly irrelevant)

Most of the schools listed are irrelevant in the modern game, and any of those would love to be in the shoes of LSU. List is shite.
