The link is from last season. Tommy white is listed.

No, it's more about how Notre Dame gets a distinct advantage of playing a soft regular season schedule, and allows them to get into the playoffs… And then it becomes a three or four game season in which anything can happen.

Exactly, Chicken. And ND was a beneficiary of a 12-team playoff that began this season. They wouldn’t have been included in a 4-team playoff to even have a chance to play for a national championship.

Oklahoma landed the #1 QB in the portal, John Mateer.

No we wouldn’t. We’d have fallen from top 5 to barely still ranked after that 3 game losing streak. Especially getting blown out at home by Bama and following up by looking like shite against 4-5 Florida.

We’d be ranked probably just ahead of another 9-3 SEC team who got embarassed by A&M and Bama…..Mizzou

Understood, but why is Bama ranked so high when they recently lost 24-3 to mediocre Oklahoma?
To play every school often, I’m in favor of either the SEC retaining its eight-game model, which would necessitate a 1+7 format (e.g., one permanent rival and seven rotating opponents) or a 3+6 model in which teams play have three fixed rivals and six teams on a rotating basis.

If you can win a title in South Bend, why has no one done it since 1988?

Exactly. Also, Penn St hasn’t won one since 1986.

I highly doubt Miami will have anywhere near 60 TD passes that Burrow had by season’s end.

This year it’s because Carville is wearing LSU gear non-stop while he rants and raves like the socialist lunatic that he is.

Truly funny by you yet not because James Carville is an embarrassment for LSU imo.

Running the table from here on out and finishing at 10-2 with wins over Bama and Ole Miss is likely going to be more than enough for a top 12 finish

If we do this then we are in the SEC championship game. We would only have 1 SEC loss with the tiebreaker over Georgia (common opponent Alabama). We would play either 1 SEC loss A&M or 1 SEC loss Texas (whoever wins their end of the year matchup).

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) uses a series of tiebreaker procedures to determine the teams that will participate in the SEC Football Championship Game:

Head-to-head competition: The tied teams play each other

Record against common opponents: The tied teams' records against common conference opponents are compared

Record against the highest-ranked common opponent: The tied teams' records against the highest-ranked common opponent are compared

Cumulative conference winning percentage: The tied teams' cumulative conference winning percentages are compared

Capped relative scoring margin: The tied teams' capped relative scoring margins are compared

Random draw: The tied teams are randomly selected
Obviously, if we were to go undefeated through this 6 game gauntlet, we’d be ranked #2 or 3. It’s not likely to happen but you never know. That’s why the games are played. As much as it pains me to say, I think that we lose at TAMU.
Vincent had decent vision but the 2003 offensive line was way better at making holes to run through than the next couple of years, including this year’s offensive line. Many were saying, “What happened to Vincent? Why does he not look as good as he did as a freshman?”

Louisiana saturday night is better

I agree. Maybe just play Eye of the Tiger in its place.

Bama is 29-10-2 in Baton Rouge. LSU is better against them on the road.

quote:
Sure but outside of the 2020 and 2018 the games are always dog fights in Death Valley it isn’t like they consistently blow us out here

Exactly. Most of that win/loss record was pre-2000.

2000-2019…..all winning seasons. If you watched the seasons in much of the 1990s, you know. 2022&2023 as well. The exception is obviously 2020&2021.

The truth, BayouCowboy
If Florida goes 6-6 it’ll be a miracle with the schedule, yet even 6-6 may not be enough for Sunbelt Billy to retain his job.
