Both teams have dominated 7A (now 6A) since 2018 - with Thompson winning six state titles and Central winning two.

14-14, almost halftime

Looking forward to the HTHS stream tomorrow. Been watching pre-season. Now for some actually meaningful football.

Central really hangs sack and schedules pretty tough.

They just want you to come there or Montgomery to do it.

Central Phenix City. Across the river from Columbus.

Central Phenix City, on the Alabama side of Columbus, Georgia (the border runs through town).

Won their region like seven of the past 10 years and a state title a couple of years ago.

It’s where Cam Coleman went.

Justyn Ross before him.

That area produces damn good players and when Central is good, they usually player there over Columbus and they dominate.

Unfortunately HTHS goes to Auburn High tomorrow so can’t go in person.

Plus the majority of our reason to go has graduated. My second oldest was the color guard captain in the band last two years.

Also, Ferriday, not sure how familiar you are with Auburn, but Patrick Nix (Bo Nix’s father) was their head coach for about the last five years.

He went there from Pinson after Bo graduated.

I didn't realize but Pat Nix no longer is coaching Central. He stepped away from coaching.

Yeah, he left last year or the beginning of this year, I think.

Not totally sure but I think he and Bo are doing something similar to Brodie Croyle and his dad with the Christian slash football camp for kids thing.

That’s great! The Croyle’s are top notch folks.
