Oddly enough, LSU got singled out last night for placing higher priority on Mettenberger over Bridgewater, yet ESPN never mentioned that his home state school Florida didn't even offer him a scholarship. Florida signed Driskell and that other bum that stood on the sidelines last night.

Why no mention of that?

Teddy Bridgewater - another guy that wasn't good enough to get a UF offer at QB. And his buddy Eli Rogers, who was probably better than any of the Gator receivers yesterday, also not good enough.

Maybe because Bridgewater isn't exactly the ideal fit for Urban Meyer's spread offense.

I disagree.

College and Pro are such different games, what does well in one does not translate to the other. We've seen it over and over a good college QB struggles in the pro. So to say a guy who was good in college goes pro and sucks doesn't mean he's a bad QB overall, just that his skillset was more suited for the college game.

That would be Urban's fault, right?

Yeah, Matt Stafford's a much better NFL QB than Tim Tebow. Does anybody believe that Stafford was a better college football player than Tebow?

TBH I don't recall but I think both staffs had a shot at him, and at one point the general consensus was that he was a Gator the minute we offered at QB.

I'd say he is spot on - JFF was pretty lackluster in the UF game.

Won Heisman. No fricks given.

Congrats to Bridgewater though. He played balls out last night and certainly played better against UF than Manziel did. Then again, Manziel was in his first college start in the first game of the year with a new coaching system when he played UF.

Kind of hard to make that parallel in real time considering A&M would probably take UF behind the woodshed today as opposed to early September.

As many Ags have said, this makes sense. JFF against UF didn't even throw the ball over 20 yards, he was basically just a runner and throwing short passes playing in his first game.

It's a joke to say he is a "system qb" though. Look at any Manziel highlight reel and you will see a ton of plays that no coach would ever draw up, esp the "evade 3 guys in the backfield and run for 20 yards" plays or the "scramble around for 10 seconds and throw across your body" plays.

What Floyd should have said is "Bridgewater played better against us in the 13th game of his second season as a starter than JFF did in his initial start as a college QB."

System QBs don't have a net positive 4 game turnaround for their teams.

Insert Jameill Showers and A&M was probably a 7-5/8-4 team.
