Your last title was in 2000..so very, very clearly you've stepped down...or do you think Yale and Princeton are top tier jobs now?
You clearly missed the entire point.
Go ahead and have a seat.
PS: I'll take the state of our program over the state of your dumpster fire any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I figured Florida would be a great job. You can recruit from a talent-rich state, enjoy great weather year-round, and be the person who turns the program around. Anyone who brought them back to their winning ways would be revered.

Florida is an ok job, but it's not ND
You know what else ND has that Florida doesn't?
Snow. Lots and lots and lots of snow.
Different things appeal to different people. It is true that Florida isn't the blue blood that ND is. But it's still a high quality job. Who knows what motivates different coaches? If BK can go to LSU from ND, why can't Freeman go to Florida?

That has worked out well for that school.

ND, Bama, OSU, Georgia, Tejas, maybe Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma. those are the prestigious jobs. Flawda is close but not to the top tier. I’d put them there with USC or Penn State or FSU.
I can’t stand UForfeit, but you’re nuts, first off only 5-8 schools as “prestigious” jobs… ok, but every single one of the Florida top three are top jobs. Marcus Freeman is just not worried about leaving his comfy job with auto bid to the playoffs to rebuild UForfeit… he’ll even dumbass loser BK took ND to the playoffs

Because he told them no? If he wanted to, I’m sure he would have. And like you said, different things motivate different people

Tell me what other coaches besides Spurrier and Meyer have won big at UF. If it were that easy, one of their four or five recent hires could have won one there. Since 2000, here are your national champs
*2000 Oklahoma
*2001 Miami
*2002 Ohio State
*2003 LSU/SoCal
*2004 SoCal
*2005 Texas
*2006 Florida
*2007 LSU
*2008 Florida
*2009 Alabama
*2010 Auburn
*2011 Alabama
*2012 Alabama
*2013 Florida State
*2014 Ohio State
*2015 Alabama
*2016 Clemson
*2017 Alabama
*2018 Clemson
*2019 LSU
*2020 Alabama
*2021 UGA
*2022 UGA
*2023 Michigan
*2024 Ohio State
Florida has two championships in that same time frame as LSU, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia. Bama dwarfs them all but to say Florida has some huge advantage is not completely accurate.
You can blame their ADs/AAU whatever you want to. But that state competes with so many other OOS schools and in state schools that it’s really difficult to build a consistent winner there.

Only two legendary coaches were able to handle the job. It’s almost like the job isn’t that great.

That has worked out well for that school.
Facts: LSU and Florida were both in the market 4 years ago. LSU hired a coach away from Notre Dame. Florida hired a coach away from UL-Lafayette. LSU beat Florida 3 out of 4 years.
Opinion: Florida is rushing offers out of fear that LSU might jump back in the market with them again.

Nothing against Notre Dame...
but I'd take the Florida job just to get out of northern Indiana and the crappy winter weather.
