After the Miami game there were two things I was thinking:

1. We moved the ball through the air a lot better than we have since 2009.

2. The two areas we have regressed in have been rushing and kicking. Here are some stats comparing our Miami game with our 2012 season.

vs Miami first then 2012 average

Total Offense: 413 yards vs. 334 yards
Passing Offense: 292 yards vs. 146.3 yards
Rushing Offense: 122 yards vs. 187. 7 yards
3rd Down Efficiency: 6-15 (40%) vs. 65-171 (36.3%)
Passing Yards/Attempt: 8.8 yards vs. 6.6 yards
Passing Yards/Completion: 13.2 yards vs. 10.4 yards

I also thought this game was played very similarly to the Georgia game last year other than the fact that Florida moved the ball better (About 150 more total yards).

I think Florida's offense is being underrated, and while it was sloppy, it was a lot more dangerous than last year. Obviously when Driskel is asked to do more he folds under pressure and that's a problem.

I think this might be a negative though because Florida really plays a style of football that is only feasible when they have the lead. If they can't pound the ball like last year, Driskel is going to have to play better with leads than he does when behind.

Stop being rational and using stats. Just join in with the meltdown and accept that you have White Jefferswag at QB.

I agree. My issue( other than the turnovers) is we were only getting 3 yards per run. We outweighed them and could not get them off the LoS. Tyler Murphy looked pathetic and had several penalties against him. That's not good enough.

And why can't we target Robinson and Fullwood? Ole Miss seemed to do it fine against Vandy with Treadwell.

To be fair, Robinson was targeted twice and had two drops against Miami. He was targeted once on a screen against Toledo but the ball was batted by a blitzing nickel I believe.

But it's not like Dunbar and Patton weren't doing good. Even Burton had 64 yards receiving.

Team as a whole probably got better, but Driskel hasn't made a similar leap. He has gotten better, but still has no pocket presence, throwing INTs in the RZ, and still not seeing the whole field. Plenty of times he had open WRs for bigger plays, but missed them.

Brent Pease needs to stop being a coward. Sure Driskel isn't very good but damn at least attempt to stretch the field.

Driskel is still locking on. There was one play where he threw over the middle in coverage but Jones was wide open in the flat.

He better get better over the bye.

Did you watch the game? Dunbar ran multiple deep routes and he hit Patton on a 40+ yard post.

If you can't throw the deep ball when you're in the pocket, you're not going to. It doesn't matter what Pease calls.

Driskel is comfortable throwing deep when he's outside of the pocket, but he's not going to be the guy who stands in the pocket and delivers 50 yard strikes down the field 3-4 times a game.

Florida is much better on offense. Without those 3 or 4 red zone turnovers that game is a blowout.

The people who can't see that are fools. Florida is the best team in the east this year.

I honestly believe we are better on defense as well at pretty much every position except for safety. We miss Elam a lot.

On the other hand, Easley is unblockable. He's better than Floyd was last year.

I agree. It sucks that y'all threw that game away on Saturday because now the ACC will think they can play with the SEC. If the Gators just kicked a FG on first down every time they got into the red zone on Saturday, they would have won that damned game.

Think about how not having Sturgis changed the gameplan.

With Sturgis we probably run it up the middle in the red zone and play for field goals.

That's why they've got to give him more roll out passing plays.

= win.

Anything but giving the damned ball away would have been a winning strategy in the red zone. That last interception (when it was 14-9 in the 4th) was just ugly.
