The pitching matchup in game 1 is in Florida's advantage. We have Singer matched up against LSU's Johnny Wholestaff approach, and we need to be able to take advantage of that. I feel better about having to split two games against Lange and Poche than having to beat them both on back to back nights. If we can get 7 or 8 from Singer, and have Byrne to close it out, that would be best case scenario moving forward to game 2 and the if necessary game.

The pitching advantage is fully in Florida's favor for game 1, and although it's always nice to get off to a good start and win game 1 in a series, I think it is more critical than usual for Florida to take a game before we have to see the combination of Lange and Poche.

Looking ahead to Game 2, Dyson has been really good lately, but you never know how the game goes, especially when you're facing a guy like Poche.

I think through each of the games, the team that manages to score 3 runs wins the game. If Florida can manufacture 3 runs, I like their chances to win the series. It will certainly be interesting. I'm enjoying the baseball talk and discussions, good luck Tigers

I agree that game one is critical for UF. I see Poche pitching deep into the game Tuesday with the extra rest and I like LSU's chances. Lange in game 3 will be big for LSU. The real question will be if Faedo pitches on Wednesday and if he does how many innings will be able to eat up.

Whoever wins game 1 will (obviously) have the advantage but I see what you're saying. If we can somehow pull of a W with the tail end of our staff on the mound on Monday, I like our chances of winning one with Poche or Lange out there

Baseball is so unpredictable... LSU may take game 1 pitching masterfully and then have Poche and Lange give up some runs and loose the series... but yeah what you say is the most logical thinking. I can't see how LSU pulls it out tomorrow to be honest.

really sucks that walker is out because if he wasn't I don't think there would be a way for florida to win.

If FLA loses game 1 it's over. If LSU loses game 1, not so much.

This is exactly my point- you worded it better than I could.

I'd feel much better if I had an idea of how Faedo would be used for a possible game 3. I don't trust Kowar at all.

I don't know man. It's baseball and don't cut yalls pitching staff short. You got some good pitchers on that roster. This series really could go either way and I do think it's going to take 3 games to win it.

Yeah it's a weird position CPM is taking. Basically, yall *should* win the first game, in which case it is anyone's series. But if yall stumble then yall are fricked.

Not sure I agree with CPM's strategy but the silver lining is that this looks like it will be fun a shite to watch

Yeah very weird strategy to have to basically say, "Florida here is the first game of the series, just take it" bc we are preparing for 3 games instead of two.

Walker getting hurt really put us in a bind in Omaha.

It did
But it allowed for Gilbert to step up in a big time way
Hoping Reynolds can do the same

I'm really not thrilled with the pitching rotation LSU is going with for this series. I feel like winning the first game is the most important for both teams. Winning it would give LSU the chance to not see Faedo at all. If Florida wins game one they have two more chances to put it away and LSU is on the fence. I also don't like matching up with Faedo even with Lange. Faedo shut us down last time and has been nails this whole postseason. Also people that expect Faedo not to pitch game 3 with a national championship on the line are kidding themselves.

Kowar is disgusting and pounds the zone. He has the stuff to shut us down but he seems to get rattled when touched up a bit.

Even if Faeda pitches game 3 he won't go more than 4-5 innings max

Won't be a game 3. LSU's pitching mo and bats take game 1. Poche relieved Lange against Fla. St. to tie career win record and got record 39 against Fla- St. Wednesday. Tuesday with enough lead to not worry about Wednesday Lange relieves Poche and gets 4 Ks for career strikeout record .

Kowar has given up like 15 runs this postseason. If we see him we will destroy him.
