That’s optimistic. There’s going to be a coup if he hires Drink. Not saying he won’t, I’m just saying there’s going to be an upwelling of anger never before seen in our fanbase.

Drink will back out once he sees the negative reaction the fans would have if he were announced

Florida is playing it smart. The new changes to the calendar incentivizes schools who hire a coach before December 3rd. It gives you a chance to win all 3 signing periods. December 3rd being the most important

Of all the guys who won’t play in a conference championship game or the playoffs……Drink might be the best available.

Florida has some great talent on that roster. They just needed a smart coach who’s organized and can get everyone pulling in the same direction. It’s not sexy and UF fans might not like it, but hey most Aggies didn’t like the Elko hire either because it wasn’t sexy

They’re mizzou, they always have zero odds to win anything that matters

Not that smart because the fans will likely have a Schiano-like revolt if the UA A attempted to hire Drink and support for the program would fall apart completely.

All that really matters is if the boosters and players are on board. If he wins you’ll be his biggest advocate a year from now

Drink is obviously better than Napier, but to Gator fans, this will be Dan Mullen 2.0 except Drink's offense isn't as good. He's a quirky dork just like Mullen and that does not play in Gainesville unless you are winning bigly. I don't think we'll get a Tennessee-Schiano fan revolution (UT fans have even us beat in being insane psychos), but the reaction will be terrible. It would be hard not to imagine us being in the same spot in another 4 years after Drink has likely failed to live up to our (high) expectations.

My sources tell me drink is a smokescreen and Florida is targeting UNLV’s coach.

I hope you’re right and he doesn’t go to Florida.

But I think you’re crazy. The dude can coach and does more with less than just about any coach in the country. With Florida’s talent and resources, he would be dangerous.

I doubt Kiffin walks into that mess in Baton Rouge. The AD is getting fired, there is no University President, and the Governor is grandstanding about coaches costing too much, and their buyouts being too large.

And Baton Rouge is a shithole

As a Mizzou fan, I’m not sure if I would be excited or disappointed if he left. He’s done some good things but not sure how much was him vs university support and timing with NIL. His in game coaching is still questionable at times. If he does leave, I think it creates some exciting possibilities.

You could be right but there are plenty of examples of coaches that were praised for doing more with less and went to a higher level program and flamed out all the same, even with the additional resources and advantages. I just don't see him as the level of coach to take us to the NC game. I think he would significantly raise the floor of the program which is desperately needed but a high floor still gets you fired in 4 years at UF without serious playoff results.

Regardless, the headline is: betting sites have taken down action on who will be the next UF coach. That tells us it’s someone that’s not going to the playoff

Grow up This is big boy business! Drink ain’t scouring message boards to see if people like him! He’s scouring contract provisions!
