I love these Bama fans. Their delusional outlook on their mediocre, at best, football team is quite amusing. You can keep dreaming of being a powerhouse program like LSU and Florida while we will live it.
You are a poor pathetic little man.

Pretty much anybody who must constantly use terms like "dominant" or "domination" to describe something they approve of, falls into this category, in my opinion.

Yes, but the 20-20 tie against the professionally paid Gators of 1984 was glorious.
Doc,normally I'd let this go,but since you are a fellow scholar on topics as such it was 21-21.

"No Bama fans" were complaining about that in the mid to late 90's ?

Seriously, I've never heard a Bama fan advocate ending the Tennessee series. If I had heard it, I would've smacked whoever said it.

You said "complain" and stated all Alabama fans just rose up as the heroic warriors that they all are when the Vols had their run in the late 90's. "No Bama fans complained".

Bama fans complained about playing Tennessee? We may well have complained about getting our asses handed to us, but no Bama fan complained about having to play them.

Of course they did. Honestly,I'm just having fun with you about your "no Bama fans" comments. Its just like some LSU fan out of 1500-2000 says something off the wall on the Tiger Rant and suddenly its "The Rant says" or "LSU fans think".
Certainly not many Tide fans did,but most certainly some did.

Well, then excuse my hyperbole. Take my "no Bama fans" to mean "so few bama fans that the number is statistically irrelevant, and that statistically irrelevant population are all idiots". That help?

Wasnt aware that going 3-5 in conference play constitutes being a powerhouse. Florida is a powerhouse right now...to say the same about LSU and claim they are on the same level as florida is laughable.

Oh,for Pete's sake. Lighten up.

You guys under 25 shouldn't use "never" so freely when talking SEC football or basketball. I don't care if you think LSU is a big rival or not. For starters, Florida has had very few "great teams". A lot of that is how "great" may be defined. LSU came into Gainesville and wore out then #4 Florida 24-13 that wasn't that close. #9 Florida was pulverized by LSU 37-14 in 1977. #1 Florida was beaten by LSU 28-21 in 1997.
When I said "never" I meant since the SEC went to the divisional format since that is what we are discussing. I did forget about the 1997 game, but that's not really considered a "great" team by Gator fans. When we talk about the ones that got away, it's usually 1995 (if only that insanely good Nebraska team didn't exist), 1998 (if only we didn't fumble 5 times and then miss a chip shot field goal in OT at Knoxville), and 2001 (if only Darnell Dockett hadn't purposely injured Ernest Graham).
In 2005 and 2007 we had other ugly losses. I suppose we might have won the East one of those years if we had played Mississippi State instead of LSU, but A) We have a better record against LSU than Mississippi State since divisional play started, B) even without a permanent opponent we will still probably play a good West team or two every year, C) Georgia had to play Auburn those years, and D) it's not changing any time soon, so why complain about it? Just enjoy the game.

Oh, jeez. I 'wasn't aware' that we were 3-5 in conference play. I thought we were ranked 9th in the country and 2-0, 1-0 in conference play.
BTW, we were 3-5 'in conference', but you got out of Death Valley verrrrrrrrrrrry lucky last year. We handed you at least 17 points.
To my recollection, we finished 8-5 and beat the 14th ranked FAVORED Ga.Tech Yellow Jackets by FIVE TOUCHDOWNS in our bowl game.
How did you do in your bowl game?

Past successes may seem trivial to some people, but tradition is a major reason why programs like Alabama, Oklahoma, and Michigan have the ability to go from mediocre to national title contenders in a couple of years with the right coaches.
The Gators were not all that good in the 1970's, but our "status" in the future is still just as good as any other school. Even if we go through a down period, we will never settle for mediocrity and we will always be ready to bounce back once we get a good coach. There are maybe 10-15 schools like this and Florida is one of them, whether or not our national title trophies are dusty enough for you.

Urban Meyer will not be at Florida forever, and Tim Tebow is leaving this year.
We have some success without those guys, you know. Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, Chris Leak. They all have rings as well.

Further, you guys have been EXTREMELY fortunate that FSU and Miami have been down during these last few years.
We have had some success when they've been good too. We won our first national title against FSU.

The street certainly goes both ways here. While many LSU fans may be envious of Bama's coach (for obvious reasons), it's obvious to any objective observer that Bama fans are a tad envious of LSU's program and success this decade.
This topic was about the SEC scheduling practices and it has turned into a "historical respect" pissing match between LSU and Bama fans.
I stick by my original suggestion of eliminating permanenet cross-division opponents. I am willing to compromise to keep the Bama-Tenn and Aub-Georgia games played every year if those schools choose to do so. But all other school's cross-division opponents should rotate where you play every cross-division team in each two-year period.

Sucks right now playing UF every year because they are a top 5 team. Would much rather play UT right now (they are down). I see your point and like the rotating 3 teams thing. I could care less about the traditional rivalries, but LSU does not have a traditional cross-conference rival, so it is easy to discount this. LSU and Arky are the only teams without a true conference rival.

To the original post:
one day people are complaining about the weak ooc schedule, the next someone is complaining about a hard conference schedule
seriously folks get a grip, good football games are what makes college football great - that's why I am glad we play Florida every year and why I am glad to see bama turning around there program
If you are beating every team by 56 points what is the fun in that, honestly tell me anyone here enjoyed the 45-0 win over miss st. In 2007 more that the razor close shave against Florida in 2007.

I always enjoy watching LSU
someone.
The Florida game was much more memorable. But had we beaten them 45-0 it would have been pretty damn fun as well because of Florida's stature. I think I would have enjoyed that more than pulling out the close one that we did.
