I'm pleased that we represented the conference so well in our first year. Feels...so...good...

Bama made the NCAA basketball tourney and won national titles in 4 different sports and was runner up in a 5th sport (men's golf) last year and STILL didn't finish in the top 25. I'm sorry but that makes NO sense at all. These rankings are severely flawed.

We are choking in softball too. Damn, terrible end to a bunch of sports. Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Golf, Lax. We had it this year. Very tough to have a chance with Stanford having so many sports that count the same number of points with so few teams. Fencing, water polo, rowing.

Alabama's current standing is likely due to its teams doing poorly, relatively, in the other sports.

This year, for example, Alabama has received no points for W-XC, W-Soccer, W-Volleyball, W-S&D, W-Basketball, M-XC and M-Basketball. UF/A&M each scored points in all but one of those (UF in W-Basketball and A&M in M-Basketball).

TTT

Looks like UF is going to finish 2nd and A&M 5th with only baseball left.

Giving credit where it is due, TAM has a solid overall athletic program.

Bama has never finished ahead of Tennessee in the Director's Cup standings. 21 straight years of athletic dominance.

Just because I gave TAM some credit doesn't mean I want to be associated with them in any way. No big 2, no Men's Track co National champions, etc. Just recognizing that there is a new #2 athletic deptartment in the SEC.

How many sports does Florida field (M&W)? I imagine they have the most teams in the SEC?

Overall a pretty solid first year in the SEC for the Ags. Glad we represented well and very glad we pulled off at least one Natty with the Track one. This makes our 4th Straight Top 10 finish. If we would pick up a few more sports we might be able to move up the list.

Kind of sucks that Stanford wins every year because they play more sports than anyone. UF is King of the SEC in overall AD's still but A&M is going to at least give you some competition.
