The 80's and 90's were dark times for LSU.

1994 - (Terrible)Mizzou 18 vs (AP #11)k-State 21
@ Faurot Field.
Mizzou played a tough game and went for the winning TD instead of the tying field goal during the final drive. It did not work.
It kind of set the table.
I don't remember if that was the first game or watching my cousin's Nebraska team destroy Mizzou in Columbia. k-State game is a better story, so I'll claim that.

1st I attended was the 1968 opener. The first I remember was the 1974 Texas game.

(That I can remember). Arkansas v. SMU, 1970, at Fayetteville when Bill McClard kicked his 60 yard field goal. I was young and it was cold and windy so we all were wrapped in quilts and blankets. With the roar of the crowd I looked up just in time to see to see the ball hit the crossbar before bouncing over.

UA vs. Miami in 1977. I was 5, and went with my father and grandfather.

Went to many games before this, but Alabama vs Tennessee in 1973 at Legion Field is the first game that I remember, probably because Gary Rutledge threw an eighty yard touchdown pass to Wayne Wheeler on the first play from scrimmage. I think that Wilbur Jackson also had a touchdown run in that game, too.

LSU-Arkansas 1999
7-3 #17 Arkansas came into Tiger Stadium and got blown out by the 2-8 Tigers. LSU jumped out to a 28-3 lead and cruised to win 35-10. I got to go because they pretty much had free admittance to the student section.
I'm 6-1 watching LSU vs Arkansas in person, the one loss being 2007, but LSU won the NC anyway.

Senior in high school in 1996. Planning to go to UAB or Jacksonville State to college and a buddy invited me to go to the MSU-Alabama game. The week before I had gone to the Troy-Jax State game (Tuck Froy!) and it was boring as hell. JSU was D-II at the time and Troy was I-AA and just beat the mess out of them in front of 100 fans.
MSU shocked the world and won 17-16. I ended up applying just to see what would happen, and they gave me a full ride. MSU beat out Jacksonville State in the end because of SEC athletics. No lie.
If that game wasn't an electric or I end up not going, I'm probably still an Auburn fan with a degree from Jacksonville State.
I would have still dominated Ole Miss, though.

LSU Arkansas in the PMAC at age 2. Parents have a hilarious picture of me pulling on the hog tail on the hat of the razorback fan in front of us

1997 Egg Bowl in Starkville.
I went with a State buddy and his mom (we were 11) and it was glorious when I watched Cory Peterson catch that 2PT Conversion to put the Rebs up 15-14 and get the win.
Glorious, I say.
