Nope, just happen to know a good bit about Boise St from arguing with dumbass Boise St fans in the past about how they deserved blah fricking blah.

Also, Petersen left the first year the playoffs were installed. G5 programs took a big hit in the rankings after that. All four times Petersen won 12+ at BSU, the lowest he ended ranked was #11. Harsin won 12 twice in six years (seventh being the COVID year), and his teams were ranked 16 and 22. Their results are somewhat comparable, it's the landscape and perception that have changed.

Truthfully, regardless of the quality of the coach, winning big at Boise just seems to be a thing. Dan Hawkins went 8–4, 12–1, 13–1, 11–1, 9–4. Then he went to Colorado and had five straight losing seasons. The coach before him was Dirk Koetter who went 6–5 (cleaning up Houston Nutt's one year of 5–6), 10–3, and then 10–2. Then flamed out at Arizona State. The last four Boise State coaches have been nails there.

Do not forget that Harsin did lose to San Jose State last year. San Jose State beat Akransas two years ago. That is the HC Auburn should have hired! The one from San Jose State!

Except for under Pinkell, who also got 5*s

Yep one 5* recruit and most others were 3* recruits and maybe 1 4* recruit. The point he didn't continue to keep recruiting those 5* and 4* recruits. The team recruiting class over the years went back down to 30s and even 40s. Odom was a lot worst. Look at the recently Mizzou overall *s on the team. I remember there was a post on that and Mizzou was 13 out of 14 in the SEC. That is very bad.

Meanwhile the Boise St's under Harsin were not winning these games

Pretty sure he beat FSU, Oregon, Washington, and several other P5 schools while at BSU

ETA: Actually after a quick search, Harsin played a tougher SOS at BSU than Petersen. So swing and a miss.

last year bowl game got blown out by Washington. That was Petersen last coaching at Washington. Then BSU lost to San Jose State! Do not tell me they are better than most of the SEC teams. That is the HC Auburn should have hired. San Jose State is the one I am shocked that Auburn didn't bother interviewing him.

Ok. So, what’s your point? You think Auburn will not be a competitive team in 2021?

You’ve spent way too much time worrying/trolling Auburn on this one.

..and you’re drunk redneck arse decided this from your couch with a beer propped up on your gut. You really need to get out more.

Look the dim witted moron is back with another useless post. Had we hired him, Dabo, Saban, or Belichick you retards would have some reason why it was stupid.

Review your coach's resume and quit talking out your a-hole

Forgive me if a program like Auburn doesn't take advice from a Big 12, reject bottom-dweller like Missouri.

Harsin will win the SEC at Auburn... like our last 3 head coaches, who didn't have nearly the resume he does. Missouri will never win the SEC. In fact, now that UGA and UF are back where they were, I doubt Missouri ever wins the division again.

It could happen, given what Gus left Harsin. But I doubt he takes a step backward. I think we will squeak out at least 7 wins this year though, but who the hell really knows

So that SoS metric you mention must be pulled out of your arse

It’s from sports reference. Readily accessible. FYI the 2019 schedule that you claim was so weak would have been Petersen’s 3rd hardest schedule at Boise by their metrics.

Pretty poor logic hear. Drinkowitz lost to a very bad GSU team at ASU. So by your reasoning, Missouri should have hired their coach

Also Pinkell got two five stars (DGB and Beckner) and averaged 3-4 four star recruits a class (at least for the last few years). There were a lot of three star guys but that’s the nature of Missouri. They’re never going to be that high in the recruiting rankings. So I guess we can definitely say Drink is recruiting better than Odom

Why is everyone attacking Hardin? Finebaum’s has nothing but good things to say about him.

I'm not trolling anyone, I gave my opinion about your coach. I think your AD is a dumbass who didn't do real homework before this hire. Hell, let's go back a step. I think your AD is a dumbass who fired a better coach without any thought into who was available to replace him.

Overall I'm thrilled with the hire for obvious reasons. Auburn downgraded, and outside maybe some short term hype it's not going to end well.

It's not uncommon for people who can't deal with reality to start fantasizing about my life to make themselves feel better, but I'm not a redneck and I don't drink.

You are comparing App State to Boise St?

If Harsin had come from a team like App St, my opinion of him would probably be better.

Can you read?

He was saying because Harsin lost to a team, that Auburn should have hired their coach instead. By that same logic Missouri should have hired GSU's coach because Drink lost to him and Alabama should immediately hire Malzahn because he beat Saban multiple times.
