I think your AD is a dumbass whofired a better coach without any thought into who was available to replace him.

Auburn downgraded, and outside maybe some short term hype it's not going to end well.
I still wonder why Harsin’s impending failure at AU seems to be so important to you. One would think that a touch of circumspection and self-reflection would be…

Well, I mean clearly you didn't or else you would have not said they were winning 12-14 games the year before they hired Harsin.
They didn't win 12-14 games for two straight years before Harsin. Why do you keep lying?
They lost a total of 5 games over the 5 seasons prior. It's called an outlier and I'm talking about the trend.
But sure, Auburn fans can be the only ones who look at the Chris Peterson era at Boise St and think his final year of 8-5 is reflective of it, or that he didn't have an extremely heavy hand in the 12-2 season following just to pretend they hired a better coach than they did.

You mean the people who make money by saying good things about programs so the fans of those programs will click and share the link with other fans?
Yeah, I will do me over that. One day you might realize - they just keep saying the same shite over and over. And it generally goes like "So and so is the next former player/coach".
You'd think Auburn fans would have learned this already. Remember when JJ was a heisman favorite?

Well, to start with - frick Auburn. I think it's great and funny. So if you think claiming I'm enjoying this is some kind of insult to me, you'd be wrong. Normally I wouldn't be talking about it because I don't generally keep up with it, but it just so happens Auburn hired a coach I was familiar with.
You guys want to spin it as some great hire, I enjoy pointing out the reality.

Cool. That's not what you said though. Sorry none of us can interpret what you're thinking, only what you write. If we take out the outlier, since you're allowing it, Harsin has average just over 1 less win a season, while being in a more difficult conference. So, i guess, this means he is a bad hire?

What are we pretending? Have any of us said he is better than Peterson? You're the only one making that argument. All we've said is we've hired a coach we think is better than Gus.

Barners don't want to hear cold hard facts man. They live in a world where Auburn is actually a National Championship contender, even though they haven't won a title in 11 years
In barner world, onside kicks, hail mary's, and kick 6's aren't luck. That stuff was all supposed to happen, it was all very good coaching. Not a dumb luck bounce of the ball.
The funny thing is, when they don't get those miracle dumb luck plays, they lose 4 games a season and aren't a serious contender for anything meaningful

This isn't the Mountain West bud. This is big boy football. Hairsin isn't cut out for this level. He will fail miserably at Auburn. 6-6 in 2021 incoming.

The barn spend 60 million plus to boot Gus and then pay the former HC of Boise State 5 million per year to fix the problem with AU football. The Barn AD has to be a smart man.

I'm just waiting for actual facts to be presented. You've done nothing of the sort. Go ahead though and do your tough talk to a 13 year old girl though.

Negative. Aside from a few, vocal idiots, nobody considers us NC contenders. Although we have been in the mix quite a bit.
quote:
even though they haven't won a title in 11 years
We were 13 seconds away from a 2nd one just 3 years after that. And the 2010 was 6 years removed from another undefeated season.

No, the onside kick and Kick-6 were blown coaching moves by Saban. And rare moments for Gus. The hail mary you are referring to was a stroke of luck in itself. We were also up on that team by 20 going into the 4th quarter and it could be argued that Mr. Murray never crossed the plane in the 4th quarter to even get them in a position to blow the defense of a hail mary.
And you are talking about events that happened in 2 seasons. Where was all the luck in 2010? 2004? 1993?

We will almost always be a contender for the SEC West. And every now and then we win the west and play for the SEC Championship. I think that is pretty meaningful. Some SEC teams have never even won the division.

He's actually very smart. He's a Notre Dame grad. How does that compare to your education?
I've talked to Greene at length on a few occasions (mostly about my sports), but he's a very bright guy.

Auburn paid a massive fortune as a result of moving on from former head coach Gus Malzahn.
Gus Malzahn signed a seven-year, $49 million extension to remain head coach of the Auburn Tigers late in 2017. Three years later he was fired following a 6-4 season in 2020.
Malzahn is doing fine as he is now the head coach at UCF. But that is not all. He also got a $21.45 million buyout from Auburn. That is quite the sum of money to receive for being fired.
Auburn hired Bryan Harsin as the new head coach, meaning the spending kept on coming. And between all the buyouts and the new contracts, Auburn is spending nearly $75 million to make a coaching change.

So? Why does that bother you so much? Is Auburn calling and asking you for $?
I've never seen so much faux outrage over coaching contracts, especially from a school that really got the ball rolling.
