As an LSU fan, I am REALLY hoping that is what happens with Lane.

I think it's clear from his time at Ole Miss that he learned a lot about being the CEO of an organization during his time at Alabama under Saban, then figured it out while putting it into practice at FAU and then Ole Miss.

LSU fans like to claim Alabama fans live in the past on their accomplishments.

Turns out LSU fans like to live in the past by pretending Alabama national championships are theirs.

What a loser fan base.

I've seen videos of drunk ex-girlfriends screaming into their phones about how much worse off their ex-boyfriends are with their new girls that were less cringey than how LSU fans keep going back to this well.
It's been 2 decades for crying out loud.

I just appreciate his helping to get Lane to LSU. That seems to be really bugging gumps.

I find it deeply amusing how often you guys repeat this.

Are you trying to convince yourselves or everyone else?

Any evaluation of Saban's career that says he could have done "better" elsewhere is clearly laughable and stupid, regardless of who says it.

Well, leaving for the Dolphins set him back in three ways:

1. He lost two years in the college game.
2. After those two years, he had to rebuild a program instead of continuing with one fully developed.
3. He had to contend with a program that he previously made elite.

If Saban stays at LSU, he’s around in 2005-2006, he’s rolling in 2007 instead of starting over, and he’s probably contending with and recruiting against a Bama program that still sucks instead of the awakened giant of LSU.

I think it’s quite possible Saban has an even greater career if he had never left LSU.

He said in his LSU introductory press conference that he also took a lot of the Briles system at FAU an integrated into his offense. So, again as an LSU fan, we hope that he's matured and that his offense continues to evolve with better players and MAYBE he won't take as many ridiculous chances. But, that remains to be seen and I am a little skeptical.
