It’s a great time until one of the idiot fans fricks with the visiting players and someone gets hurt. Then everyone lawyers up.

Most famously after the kick in the 1985 iron bowl, you can see the fans pouring onto the field.

I was going to post the same thing. Didn't bama fans tear down a goal post after a Sugar Bowl or am I remembering incorrectly?

Seems most people here think rushing is acceptable. I think it's taboo when you're ranked 13, and was 5 seven days earlier. At 13, you should feel as though you can beat anyone on any given Saturday. We never rushed the field during my seven years as a student (2004-2010 seasons). I guess we always expected to win. Rushing yesterday showed that the students didn't have confidence in their team. Rushing is for the truly improbable upsets.

A bunch of college kids rush the field after a huge win and some old self-loathing Chicken Little belittles them.
They're kids, let it go

Acceptable only after a loss at UF breaks your fan base. I’ll allow it.

Good thing that obviously didn’t happen.

Yesterday was acceptable.

What was much more embarrassing was rushing the field a few years ago after beating Ole Miss.

How about this, if you want to do it, do it. Don’t worry about everyone else

Rushing the field against Ole Miss was awesome! You should watch interviews with some of the players talking about how they felt about. It was a bucket list moment for many of them.

Agreed. Bama has never rushed the field. I guess acting like you've been there before is a more important look.

Some fans rushed Legion Field in 1990 after snapping AU's 4 game Iron Bowl win streak.

The cops beat their asses and I haven't seen it since.

Leave rushing the field to the poors like Kentucky and Auburn. It's bush league.

t's fun as long as no one gets hurt. Some people think that it is embarrassing or makes it look "like you haven't been there before", but these people take college football too seriously imo

Agreed, I don’t see why people get upset when 20 year old students have fun and run on the field. How is that possibly embarrassing to someone?

Isn’t it banned in the SEC? Large fine?

Never acceptable. Thankfully, we've never rushed our field (even after beating #1 FSU in 97).

The Gators rushed the field in Tally in 83 and tried to tear down one of their goalposts after winning in a deluge

Rushing the field should only happen at away games

I was surprised they rushed the field, but this was pretty funny.
