If you are good at even grammar school/pre algebra math, you can quit coaching and tutor on the side. Charge $50+ an hour. Or if you can set up an ACT/SAT prep class.

If you read the whole post on Reddit, Dad was suspicious because both he and his wife have blue eyes and his daughter has brown.

When the Cajuns were exiled from Acadia, they stopped several places on the way before making it to Louisiana. Some of them escaped to other parts of the USA and stayed. There weren’t near as many anywhere else but it did happen.
The funniest story was the Cajuns tried to settle near the puritans in Mass. I can’t think of two more culturally oil and water don’t mix societies. Anyway they were kicked out in short order.

John Rosemond used to have a weekly column in the newspaper but he has written several books, with the theme being common sense and parents maintaining their authority. I liked his approach but with any parenting advice you need to figure out what works for you and your kids. Good luck!

If you are familiar with the brown shirts, then you know they use fear, intimidation and violence to shut people up who have a point of view that does not fit their very narrow view of the world. If you watch ANTIFA in action and old films of the brown shirts some of ANTIFA looks like the reincarnation of the brown shirts.

ANTIFA uses “fascist’ tactics. Part of the problem is that people are confused about how fascist and communism differ. Saying one is alt rt and the other is alt left is a misrepresentation. They are both socialist dictatorships where the government takes away individual freedoms for the sake of “the whole”. In practice, they tend to justify murdering their own people. Where they differ is that communism has a global agenda to take over the world and make us all alike and Fascism has a nationalistic agenda to conquer other nations to serve the motherland. In practice they are more alike than different especially to their own citizens.

My daughter was dyslexic and ADD. Therapy is not necessary unless there are other problems. You need one on one tutoring for the dyslexia, with a tutor who uses a program based on Orton-Gillinghan. I put her in dance and sports because I think staying active is always important but especially when they are ADD. I decided not to medicate but every kid is different so I can’t say for anyone else.
Also for the dyslexia, help them find something they are good at they will need it for their self esteem. Dyslexia is estimated to be 20% of the population, let him know he is not alone. Stay positive. Good luck.

While I think the billboards are humorous, I also think this might be a bit of a distraction for the team. Coach O needs to say this to keep, his team focused.
re: Question for the older Tiger Fans:

It is funny how people really think this a new problem LSU student section has always had a potty mouth. I went to my first game when I was 5yrs old. I was shocked at the the Go to Hell Ole Miss chant and yes it was considered profanity at the time. When that was no longer edgy, they added “eat sh## to it. There have been quit a few different “organized’ profanities coming from the student section. In 1986 or 87 the band added a little jingle to the after the touch down song and we sang Ah ha ha ha ha you sorry bast###s, you sorry Bast###” but games were being televised too much and the administration made the band take that part out so we wouldn’t look bad on TV. Anyone else remember that particular chant. It was short lived.

Rushing the field against Ole Miss was awesome! You should watch interviews with some of the players talking about how they felt about. It was a bucket list moment for many of them.

Rushing the field is part of the excitement of being a fan. How to take the fun out of college football is the one football related thing we should never immulate about Bama.

Bama fans are so uncomfortable with coaches who smile and are capable of being happy. Lighten up, life is short. Football is entertaining. ??

They call my mom all the time too. However, I think the fact that it is mostly old people who won’t give up their land line factors into the equation as well. Most people’s cell number is either on a do not call list or harder to obtain.
re: What African American authors do you recommend?
Posted by lsufightingtigers1 on 1/14/18 at 9:51 pm
Alexandre Dumas, “The Count of Monte Cristo”’was the son of a French nobleman and a slave of African descent. I know this just illustrates the point everyone is making about race not mattering but I thought it was a cool factoid that I just resently learned.
re: Who are your schools two biggest rivals?
Posted by lsufightingtigers1 on 8/24/17 at 7:54 pm
As an LSU fan this varies by who you ask. I'm old so I say Ole Miss and whoever is currently good between Florida, Auburn and Bama. I know they don't hate us equally. We don't hate anyone the way Bama/Auburn and Texas / Texas A&M hate each other. I personally believe having someone to really hate is way overrated.
re: I have heard that "The Patriot" is terribly inaccurate and offensive to the British
Posted by lsufightingtigers1 on 7/30/17 at 11:41 pm
True but the British in that time frame were known for some atrocities. Also, they actually did something similar to the Acadians. Which is why the Cajuns hated the British for generations. The British people believed it more acceptable to miss treat the French colonist than their own.
