My mother got my wife and I tickets to the Alamo Bowl.
Ticketmaster seems to have gone out of their way to make gifting and receiving event tickets as annoying as possible.
No real tickets for you of course is now standard but their new added bit of fun is even though you are buying the tickets through Ticketmaster, to claim the tickets or to transfer them as a gift, you have to sign up for an Alamo Bowl account that is run by..... Ticketmaster.
The person receiving the tickets must also make an Alamo Bowl account b/c those tickets do NOT transfer to your Ticketmaster account even though the Alamo Bowl Ticketmaster account automatically uses your regular Ticketmaster email and password when you sign up. As far as I can see, there is no way to send said tickets to your regular Ticketmaster account all while buying them via Ticketmaster. There is no Alamo Bowl app so you have to sign into your Alamo Bowl account on your phone browser to put them in your wallet.
It's always fun to be forced to jump through a bunch of needless hoops just so one more business entity can steal and sell your data.
