Federal Alabama judge assigned to the LSU case has her bachelors and juris doctorate (Law Degree) from the University of Alabama...

No, No - Greg Skankey was not Judge Shopping!

LA AG Liz Murriell better request a change of venue back to Louisiana...

This Attorney says that is highly likely

Are you saying the same thing about the Oxford court and Ole Miss judge who ruled that Chambliss be given a 6th year of eligibility or does that not fit your narrative?

Yes, all state judges are corrupt. That is why the TRO’s are a joke

Sounds like home cooking so I don't see how anyone can say anything about what happened yesterday in Baton Rouge.

explain why this case belongs in Alabama at all and why a federal judge should intervene while a Louisiana judge is already exercising jurisdiction over the underlying controversy. * Why Alabama? * Why should an Alabama federal judge decide a dispute centered on LSU in Louisiana? * What injury has the SEC suffered that gives it Article III standing? * Is this really a First Amendment case, or is it fundamentally a conference-governance/contract dispute? * What effect should the existing Louisiana injunction have on the requested federal relief? * Is the SEC attempting to accomplish indirectly in federal court what it just failed to accomplish before the Louisiana judge? The SEC is headquartered in Alabama, so it has an argument for venue there. But LSU, its president, athletic director, and Kiffin are Louisiana-based; the conduct is occurring at LSU in Louisiana; and there’s already an active Louisiana proceeding involving the same underlying dispute. That’s a pretty strong factual basis for LSU to seek transfer to the Middle District of Louisiana (Baton Rouge) or potentially dismissal depending on the jurisdictional/procedural arguments.

Just listened to a California attorney breakdown this case, and starting of a new federal case in Alabama…

He laid out every single talking point that you did above and agreed with your final analysis…

Alabama judge will be asked to stay the suit until the Louisiana judge makes his final ruling to issue a permanent injunction or remove the temporary injunction… therefore the Alabama federal case will not proceed until the Louisiana case ends…

Or,

If the federal case proceeds, even though the Louisiana case has not been finalized, a change of venue will be granted back to a federal District Court in Louisiana…

Or,

The third option is to wait for the Louisiana case to be finalized with a permanent injunction, then go to the appellate court over the Baton Rouge Court at the state level…

Being an attorney, I’m genuinely interested to see how the venue issue turns out. I’m not really a litigator, but it’s still fascinating to watch from a legal perspective.

Personally, I don’t really care about the ultimate outcome of the suit, other than I just want to see the chaos in college sports reined in. My hope is that this situation pushes us closer to doing that.

Hopefully the SEC wins and it establishes the conferences have final say in if someone is eligible to play or not.

It will stop all the TRO bullshite.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama certainly has subject-matter jurisdiction on the basis of diversity of citizenship. I also understand the lawsuit revolves around a 1st amendment claim, too, so there’s the federal question. I think most courts would also find that personal jurisdiction exists because LSU is an active member of the SEC, participates in SEC meetings, etc. with the SEC being based in Alabama. Seems like a pretty clear instance of having sufficient minimum contacts in Alabama.

LSU keeps being discriminated against by the SEC, because the SEC headquarters is corrupt and full of Alabama and Auburn alumi that work there… in that building in Birmingham, AL.

The SEC commissioner is corrupt & incompetent because his closest group of friends and social network is full of Alabama and Auburn alumni…

This is exactly why I have always advocated for the SEC headquarters to be removed from Alabama and moved to a neutral state that is not in the southeast…

If the schools that make up the southeastern conference, want neutral, and uncorrupted governance from the conference headquarters and unbiased officiating, the southeastern conference headquarters needs to be moved to either the state of Maine or the state of Washington…

If that were the case, referees backgrounds could be investigated for relatives in the southeast… if the referees were from either of those states, your background could be investigated for close and distant relatives that have ties to southeastern states….

No one could be a referee in the southeast conference if there were any conflicts of interest due to relatives living in the southeast.

Furthermore, the commissioner and all the people that work at the SEC’s headquarters, would have to be from either Maine or Washington state… with no close or distant relatives from or living in the southeastern part of the United States…

They’ll probably get around that issue by naming individual officials as defendants.

They'll have to file again then.

They filed the BOS as a collective defendant.

False.

Wrong again dumbass!

The action in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Court is a three step process.

#1 TRO - it was successfully granted by the judge

#2 preliminary injunction - a hearing was granted, witnesses were heard, evidence was presented, and the judge granted the preliminary junction.

#3 permanent injunction - that’s a trial that has not happened yet… the judge can either issue a permanent injunction or repeal the preliminary injunction…

The plaintiffs and defendants are the same in the federal Alabama case as the Baton Rouge Louisiana case…

LSU was not part of the TRO… SEC and NCAA were the defendants and the players were the plaintiffs…

However, when the Baton Rouge judge issued his preliminary injunction, he enjoined (added) LSU into the case, and essentially mandated that LSU add the players to their roster, and if LSU fails to do so, LSU will face monetary penalties from the judge and will be held in contempt…

So you’re wrong on all counts:

The plaintiffs and defendants are essentially the same.

The case is active..

It is essentially the same dispute, but SEC is shopping for a different venue, judge and verdict…

Baton Rouge Judge says that the players can play… SEC is shopping for a judge that will say that the players can’t play…

SEC’s case is garbage in Alabama…
