Thanks bro. Appreciate the love. Damn right, nothing wrong with it. Our 2019 will definitely go down as the GOAT.

and might be the greatest recruiting class of all time.

I assume you are talking about our 2017 class that fueled the GOAT team. It was pretty sick. This one is probably a stretch though as greatest recuiting class of all time. It's probably not.

Thanks again for the accolades though.

He was such a hypocritical charlatan. Perhaps he's learned from his mistakes, but those types seldom do because they also tend to be narcissists.

From the summer of 2009:

quote:

Controversial Press-Register sports columnist Paul Finebaum created a stir throughout the Southeastern Conference recently when he wrote a column suggesting that Urban Meyer's departure for Notre Dame is inevitable.
Unfortunately for Alabama fans, the column wasn't based on fact. It was based on hope. You see, Alabama football, with its legions of fanatical fans and its horde of frenetic media, is scared.

Very scared.

The slow-talking, whiskey-sipping fans up here are downright spooked because all these years they've been waiting impatiently for the second coming of Bear Bryant. And now, finally and frighteningly, they are seeing it happen. Except the resurrection of the Bear is not taking place in Tuscaloosa; it's happening in Gainesville, where Meyer is the closest thing the SEC has ever seen to cloning arguably the greatest coach in college football history.

Pat Dye on f-Bomb the week before the UGA game.

Bama got beat in a big way.

We won that game by a whopping two points, but Musa Smith ran hard as frick that day and that's what Dye was referring to.

Don’t know how famous they are besides to Bama fans, but a lot of quotes from Miami players in December 1992 aged like a grape in a glass of milk.

quote:

”Just tell those boys to show up on Friday night,” said [linebacker Micheal] Barrow. “That’s when we’ll teach them how to do the walk.”

quote:

The verbal trashing, naturally, has spilled into the interview rooms, where hundreds of national media folk hang on every nasty word. Not a day passes when a Miami player doesn’t ridicule and undermine the opponent, no abuser louder than one Rohan Marley. You may have heard of his late father, Bob. It seems Rohan has given new meaning to the Marleyesque reggae term, Jammin’. “Alabama has no passing game,” said Marley, a feisty 5-8 linebacker. “And one-dimensional teams are not complete teams. I know it’s going to be a good night for us.”

quote:

Real men don’t play zone. At least that’s how Miami wide receiver Lamar Thomas has it figured.Thomas looks at Alabama cornerbacks Antonio Langham and George Teague and sees nothing that scares him.

“I don’t really consider their corners two of the best in the nation, because it’s their defensive line that makes them so good,” Thomas said Wednesday. “Their corners never come out of zone coverage, so they’re not good cover men. I don’t think they’re great corners; they’re OK corners. I think they should get out of their zone and be real men.”

…Thomas couldn’t resist one parting shot.

“They’ve been doing some talking about how their defense is going to score against us,” he said. “I don’t think their offense can score against our defense, so they’re probably going to need it.”

quote:

“We have no definition of losing,” linebacker Jessie Armstead said. “We don’t know how to say it. We don’t know how to spell it.“

quote:

The State (Columbia, South Carolina), “Miami Vs Alabama Should Be A Yawner,” Jan. 1, 1993: It’d be nice if it could happen again. Nice if No. 1 vs. No. 2 could be a thriller. But it won’t. …So Miami goes for its fifth title in 10 years against five-time winner Alabama. Miami’s offense, No. 3 in passing and No. 12 overall, vs. ‘Bama’s No. 1 defense. Irresistible force vs. immovable object. Can’t wait, huh? Well, sorry. The point spread is Miami by 8, the second-largest of today’s games (FSU is a 10 1/2-point favorite over No. 11 Nebraska, and that’s conservative). The bookies know Gino Torretta and his corps of future-all-pro receivers will be Alabama’s first Top 20 offensive test. Heck, Florida scored 21 points vs. ‘Bama in the SEC Championship with the NCAA’s No. 31 — 31! — offense. …Tonight? Miami scores twice early, and the defenses take over. Somewhere, ‘Bama manages a touchdown, by its defense. Miami scores again to win 21-7. Fans nod off in the fourth quarter, waiting for a rally that never comes.

The complete quote:

“We gonna beat their arse in recruiting We gonna beat their arse every time they see us. ROLL TIDE WHAT... frick YOU”

In reality, none of it happened. Got beat in recruiting both years and of course you were absolutely embarrassed at home, giving up 45 points in just the first half.

And then to top it all off, Alabama went out and put an even better season together.

So yeah, frick you, Roll Tide.
