You are a stupid person.
Do you blame Bama for:
- Pat Dye's P4P scheme that place AU on probation?
- Cecil Newton's P4P scheme to whore out his son?
- 4 AU players committing armed robbery and being kicked off the team?
- 1 AU player committing domestic violence and being kicked off the team?
- 4 former AU players admitting on HBO to AU's P4P?
- A former AU coach (Tot) admitting to AU's P4P system, and naming all coaches & boosters involved?
- Bobby Lowder being a BOT memeber for 28 yrs and running AU's finances? (A man under federal investigation)
- AU accepting millions from Milton McGregor? (A man under federal investigation)
The list could go on and on........
Is Bama and the REC to blame for ALL of Auburn's troubles? Really?

Don't forget that Pat Dye finally found his pants AND he still has an office in the Auburn athletic department.

Would everyone stop with the conspiracy theory bullshite??? Running around pointing the finger at Alabama and their fans is retarded and paranoid.
Claiming that somehow, Bama has to be behind all (or any) of the negative press AU has received without any evidence to support it is totally retarded and paranoid....agreed. ITAT is full of this every day...but, AU fans and others have been shaking their heads at the way HBO presented their findings...an Auburn hatchet job...the fact that the guy in charge is a Bama guy IS noteworthy. Did AU players get paid? Maybe (probably IMO) but excluding all evidence to the counter and including, of all schools, a Bama player to say he had never been paid makes more sense now. Sorry but that's obvious.

Exactly. Nice to see some accurate reporting.

The guy grew up a Bama fan, went to college at the University of Missouri, so I don't know that he qualifies as a "Bama" guy. You love Auburn and Auburn football, as do I, and we assume that anyone that ever liked Auburn or was a fan, loves it with the same passion.
I think one can make a good argument that it was crappy journalism, but the minute anybody starts the "bama fans are out to get us" it nullifies the legitimate gripes IMHO.

Well, in all fairness, it's not the ONLY part of the story. There may have been biased reporting, but there are many factors in the story that didn't make Auburn look great... I think to focus on the perceived pro-Alabama slant, and not to point out the other factors that may have caused the negative publicity, is sort of stupid.

Here's my take. No, I don't think the whole thing was intended to harm Auburn or to help Alabama. I think that HBO was running out of time...the segment was originally intended to focus on the whole Cam thing but that fell apart. Had they actually used any of the interviews from players and others countering the claims of the four saying they were paid, those interviews would have been more or less useless. They were bumping a deadline because of the Cam expose falling apart and had no choice but to go with plan B. There was no plan C. I think this is more likely than some Bama guy wanting to hurt Auburn...but, including Prothro of all players seems like a product of this guy's influence though.

The REC has a very potent hypno-suggestive drug that we sprinkled over their popcorn they ate while waiting for the NCAA to give Bama the death penalty over text books.

Or maybe since they were already in Alabama they just drove 2 and a half hours over to Tuscaloosa and interviewed an Alabama player who might have an axe to grind with the school. That would make way too much sense and it would kill all the conspiracy theories coming out of ITAT though, so I doubt that's how it went down.

Hail - the program did pick on Auburn but it was NOT pro-Alabma. That's all I'm saying. It was negative toward major college football period. The only thing they did smash was the Ivy League.
