He never said they were off base about the possibility of Elko taking the job. He has said over and over again that it’s a real possibility. What he said they were completely wrong about was that they were already, at that time, telling recruits that Elko was leaving, that the Harris in home went poorly, and that Kelly had been contacted about the job.
