Not really. We didn't get the NC in '83, which we should have. We didn't get a shot in '04, which we should have. The stars have aligned perfectly for your last two NCs. Things completely out of your control happened for you to get there and win it. So no, we are not really the luckiest of all.

No one is saying it was down to luck....Bama did not play well in every aspect of the game. Bama cam out flat and out of synch and blew mulitple opportunities to win....another kicker meltdown a'la LSU 2011.....this was a team loss and by team I also mean Saban didn't have them well prepared....
Of course giving credit to malzhan and the effort of his team who punched above their weight last night.

And Alabama hasn't been lucky the last 2 years loosening games and then having everyone in front of them lose and how is it luck for your coach to make a stupid decision to go for it with a 7 point lead in the 4th qtr and how is it luck for auburn to call a time out and prepare for a return it's not AUs fault saban didn't prepare his team for that situation

bama won a NC when they didn't even win their division. There was also a one loss team that had a better resume than bama. They just didn't have the "name brand". You want to talk about luck?

2009 - Alabama needs terrance cody's fat fingers to beat an awful UT team.
2011 - Alabama loses AT HOME to LSU on Nov 5th. Done, season over. Oklahoma St misses a fg by 6 inches. Alabama, without winning its division gets a mulligan over a team that won its conference....pretty lucky huh?
2012 - Alabama needs miracle to win in Baton Rouge. Following week, loses AT HOME to A&M in NOVEMBER. Done, season over. Nope, Alabama backs into a gift NC.
Don't talk about luck dude. Alabama has been to most fortuitous college football team over the last 3 years and it ain't even close.
By the way.....the Alabama dynasty now has 1 SEC west title in the last 4 years....that would be 1.
