What LSU needs to do is get out in front of the situation be proactive gather all the facts. For those who "truly" know about the Albert Means situation knew if the NCAA dug more during that time period they could of death penalty Bama. The good Old' boys thought they could stall and intimidate the NCAA during investing. It feels like the embers of Ole Miss situation where it was handled poorly by the administration and snowballed. This shady booster or whatever could give up more names especially if significant jail time is involved. My buddy always said that once the dust settles on numerous humiliations that NCAA suffered from the likes of Penn ST, UNC, Miami etc. That next program will carry those teams sins.

Just like Auburn & Cam I'd be willing to bet anything that the "Amateur" LSU Student Athlete knew absolutely NOTHING about this "Alleged" NCAA Violation.

If this guy was a booster it could be a problem.
Remember this. The NCAA operates with complete autonomy. No one governs the infractions committee. In the Albert means case there was ZERO paper trail, ZERO cancelled checks, ZERO RECORDED phone calls, ZERO witnesses. Just the testimony of one high school coach that was refuted by others. Not one, shred, ounce, pound or scent of proof. Also, the NCAA found Bama NOT GUILTY of lack of institutional control. Praised the university's handling of the investigation and said this was all the doing of a booster and no one at the university could have known about it.
Didn't matter. They sunk our program for 5 years. Killed it.
If this guy was a booster, if there are conversations with wade on them about an offer....that's twice as much as they had in the Albert means case and not one Bama coach was involved.
Will lsu get hit? Who knows but a "nothing burger" is complete ignorance. I know I would be VERY nervous if this was Bama. They nailed us with absolutely nothing concrete. If wade is on a call and this guy was a booster....yikes. it could be ugly.

Ah yes, the 1999 recruit case.
Great point with much relevancy!

Well this is apparently a rogue criminal working on his own.
Say I start sending money to random parents around the SEC, how would the schools know about it? They would not.
Seems to be the case here. Nothing burger, extra nothing.

This is BAD for LSU.
NCAA doing full cavity searches all around.

When the authorities just stumble on things such as a head coach on the phone talking about buying players, and an administrator funneling hospital funds to play players, what the hell are they gonna find when they really dive in! I've got a very bad feeling about this for LSU's sake...the SEC, too. Nobody wants to see a conference school's athletic program virtually shut down. It takes away from league competitiveness.
