2022 UT-Bama gets my vote. Absolutely the worst officiating crew in the SEC (they've been fined multiple times for fricking games up so badly. How are they still active as a crew?) I think they did the Iron Bowl last year, which was also a shite show for both teams.
They needed 10 minutes of video replay to figure out if 4 downs had been played after UT failed to convert on 4th down. None of the refs on the field could figure it out. How clueless can a group of guys get? Given how everything went that day, I was positive they were going to give UT a 5th down.
The day ended with 'Bama having the most penalty yardage in school history if I'm not mistaken.

Weird how LSU fans always want to show that image, which happened after the ones below which show Julio clearly touching the ball while being an out of bounds player. Thus making it the correct call.
Yet, in every photo you just posted, Julio is in bounds or the ball hasn't arrived. Photo one. Ball hasn't arrived. Photo 2, Julio isn't and hasn't touched out of bounds. Photo 3, Peterson has complete possession of the football as Jones attempts to catch it with his hands behind Peterson's. It was a horrible call.

What is more important? If the call is correct, or if the reason the call is made?
If you are given a multiple choice question on a test, and you give the right answer even though your reason for coming to that answer is wrong, does it mean the answer is wrong?
At the end of the day, it was the right call. If you doubt Julio touched the ball, then watch the entire thing here. Go to 1:05 and you can see him touch it over and over as the keep looking at Peterson's feet instead of the ball.
At 1:07 (not 1:05) you get a clear image of Peterson picking the ball. What you don't see is Jones touching the football. You see him attempt to. You see Peterson's hands around the football at that time in possession. Lol.
Even with that being a horrible blunder by the officials, it doesn't come close to 2006 Auburn.

Not saying worst but this one was pretty bad especially since there was no review.

In what world do those pics show a clear touch out of bounds? The first pic his feet are in bounds. The 2nd pic is impossible to say. The 3rd pic don’t even show his feet.

In 2018, Joe Burrow's first year starting for LSU, the ref's called passing interference against Auburn on just about everything in the second half and that helped LSU win
There were a couple 50/50s but LSU also had a 75 yard Td and a 4th down conversion late.
Also, if you’re referring to this play at 13:30 when the CB locked Jefferson’s right elbow the entire time the ball was in route I don’t know what to tell you
Pass Interference (or holding)

Peyton Manning's Junior season, in Columbia .... SEC refs trying to keep UT in the hunt called the worst game in SEC history. SC had 5 future NFLers in their secondary and was wearing Manning's arse out ..... refs kept calling pass interference.
Blatantly bad calls that even the TV announcers were questioning.
SEC refs handed UT the game with a quick whistle on a Manning fumble that SC returned for a TD.
The next week, without SEC refs to cover their asses .... Manning lost to Memphis State in the Liberty Bowl.
UT was out of the BCS hunt ... or whatever the BCS was called at the time.
And listen, I'm a closet Vol fan. I was raised a Vol fan. But that game .... was it '96 or so maybe? The refs in that game should have all been imprisoned. And Fulmer knew the fix was in. That fat frick just laughed and laughed.

Okie bringing victim mentality to the SEC?

I know this is mainly about football but the single worst officiating performance I’ve witnessed came from the umpiring crew in game 1 of the LSU / UC Irvine super regional in 2008. Fortunately, it would go on to spark one of the great super regionals in what would be the last one ever at the old alex box.

I remember this vividly. Arkansas was utterly screwed. I can't imagine how frustrated Arkansas fans must have been because I got angry watching it as a neutral observer.
Words really can't do justice to what it was like watching that game as an Arkansas fan.

Colorado got a share of the natty that year, btw.
ND should have beaten them as well if not for a phantom holding call on a kick return TD

don't care what the SEC said. The call was correct either way. You can cry about who got what wrong and why, in the end the correct call was made.

Kirby's first NC game, had obvious face mask missed with officials stairing at it which would have extended a drive and maybe led to a fg and time off the clock, a blown offside call that took points off the board, and an opponent scoring play where their wr was 5 yards down field at the snap. Many more... Big10 officials are old fat and blind

I’m still pissed about this game

Any game that Vanderbilt grad Allama Matthews officiated. Especially this call. Even Steve Spurrier shook his head in the post game press conference on this one.

the ref was told to wave it off, he had ties to Penn St.
