Even Saban can't fix the fiasco that is destroying collegiate sports

I give Trump 5 stars for optics for mentioning Saban as a possible committee chair or co-chair of some commission, but the reality is even Saban is powerless to do anything. It's a good move and I'm sure it was met with applause at the UA graduation, but this is a legal issue and the courts have made it clear where they stand.
As college fans, we may have to face the reality that there is no solution and it is what it is. If there was a possible solution, don't you think it would have been taken to court by now?

Anti-trust exemption would fix that. Without that they are pissing in the wind.

He created it by buying teams his whole career.

Go jack off fantasizing about Big Mike railing you in the arse. It will make the liberal hurt go away.

The NCAA and universities can easily decide to restrict playing time for transfers. I don’t think there’s any legal protocol for how they handle that element of the sport.
NIL is here to stay. It sucks but it’s not the worst part of what is destroying college sports. Eliminate the free agency in college sports, and you’ll see commitments mean something again. You’ll see recruiting matter again.
Where you might be correct in that CFB is lost is in the playoff. Greed, corporate meddling, is going to destroy college sports. It’s supposed to be a cultural event, not a professional one. The playoff sucks. We need more conference pride and rivalry games.

The state of college football is Saban’s fault.

Pandora’s box was opened long ago…. and it won’t be closed as long as tv deals are involved.
The liberal portal rules destroyed any semblance of “team” and culture …. which were the traditional hallmarks of collegiate athletics. Now it appears a collection of individuals that are interested mostly milking the system or getting to the next level.
So disappointed in what it has become. Free agents, player auctions, scrimmages disguised as bowl games, …. and no emphasis on academics whatsoever.
Don’t blame Saban …. he merely had the foresight to see that the bus was headed into the ditch

Are you a liar, an idiot, or both? I suspect both.
Evidence? Alabama players flaunted it. Nothing was done to stop them, because Saban knew his butt buddy Mark Emmert was protecting him.

College football was destroyed by greedy coaches, administrators, and corporate types with dollar signs in their eyes, as well as fans who want entertainment and place too much emphasis on winning. What we’re seeing with the players now is just the final, inevitable rung in the ladder.
I like Saban but teaching college kids how to run pattern matching coverages and a few basic life skills that their parents should have taught them shouldn’t be a $10,000,000 a year job.
If we’re going to bring sanity to CFB, let’s start by putting coaches on a salary schedule comparable to professors. If they don’t like it, they can go to the NFL or CFL or sell insurance. There are plenty of guys coaching big high schools who can put a great product on the field with Ohio State and Georgia talent. Besides, most of the value of college coaches has been their ability to recruit the best players, not their X’s and O’s wizardry.
A big part of the reason Johnny Heisman wants his cut is because everyone riding his back to victory is making millions. I wouldn’t like that either if all I got was a scholarship.

The question is, if he does fix it, will DeBoer come and frick IT ALL UP WITHIN A YEAR like he has with Bama’s football program?

All the bitches that wanted to pay the players because they need money to go out on a date. Well here we are. One of the greatest institutions of this country burnt to the ground and ruined.
