We still haven’t started talking about the 4 Division Pod system

Hear me out..expand the SEC to 36 teams. Divide them up into 6 pods of 6. Every team plays every other team in its pod, and then each team wil have permanent rivals from its brother pod (SEC East/SEC West -- Big 12 North/Big 12 South -- ACC atlantic/ACC coastal) that they will play every year, those teams that are not permanet rivals will rotate in every few years.

We will call the pods divisions, the divisions will be part of what we will call conferences. A conference is made up of 2 divisions. We will call the conferences, the SEC, the ACC, and the big 12. These will fall under the umbrella of the SEC super conference. The super conference term will essentially have no meaning whatsoever

SEC West
LSU
Auburn
Alabama
Arkansas
Mississippi State
Ole Miss

SEC East
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
Tennesse
Vandy
Kentucky

SEC Big 12 North:
Colorado
Nebraska
Iowa State
Missouri
Kansas
Kansas State

SEC Big 12 South
Texas
texas tech
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Baylor
Oklahoma State

SEC ACC Atlantic
Florida State
Boston College
Clemson
NC state
Wake
Maryland

SEC ACC Coastal
Miami
virginia Tech
Georgia tech
North Carolina
Virgina
Duke

It will be like nothing ever seen before in college football

So, ONLY the SEC will have a 16 game schedule?

Little Nicky wussy boy didn't want it. It would've been to hard for him to win it all having to possibly play another team with a pulse.

SEC go to 9 games while teams like O$U, MICH, Oregon, CLEM, FSU, Miami, play 2-3 games a season??

Exactly right. Clemson has games set up in the future with UGA, Oklahoma and LSU, plus play SC every year. We usually play SEC teams every year, if SEC goes to 9 conference games we may lose out on them.
I personally would hate it, I would rather play SEC or even B10 teams win or lose.

The break between the upper half and the lower half was A&M (upper) and Tennessee (lower). This meant that, in putting together Bama's permanent opponents, UT counted as their low team, so the conference office proposed Bama's permanent opponents to be Auburn (upper), UT (lower) and...surprise! Nic...LSU (upper). This didn't play well with Saban, who switched on a dime from being the biggest proponent for a 9 game schedule to opposing it, and tipped the balance.

Which everybody thought was funny, yet interesting, was that Alabama ALREADY played these schools annually.

But I wouldn’t worry about the 5-away/4-home difference since it will flip every other year anyway.

So you’ld play the same set of teams in consecutive years before flipping sets to complete the H/A format?

I say no deal. No real urgent reason to go to 9 games. Any 2-loss sec team is getting into the playoff regardless of its schedule in the current landscape

Wait until some of this NIL/transfer/$$ stuff shakes out and maybe revisit the negotiating table when they bump the offer to $150+mil

1/8 = 12.5% increase

12.5% x current $811m contract = $101m (not to mention the current $811 contract is too low to begin with in current market)

Their offer is too low trying to get the SEC to do something that we really don’t even have to do right now. The SEC would be wise IMO to keep holding onto that 9th game card, it could be a lot more valuable in the future. Don’t take measly $50mil for it

Or think bigger… while everyone else is going to 9, go to a 10-game conference schedule in 5 or so years and totally restructure the TV deal for mega bucks

Please no

No desire to have Baylor, etc on regular schedule.

Aside from that it it’s a major step backwards in revenue sharing. ESPN isn’t going to pay more for Baylor, Colorado, Tech, etc.

So you are trying to reconstitute the SWC (yes, the Okie schools were SWC before they were Big 8).

Your original statement was since WW2 they have a 2:1 advantage

WWII ended on September 2, 1945

So let's do some basic algebra

2024-1945=79

Now let's mix in that we played in both 2024 and 1945 so that is +1 then we played twice in 2018 when we beat them in the RRS but lost the BDF title so we are at 81

Can we agree that Texas has played Oklahoma 81 times since WW2 ended on 9/2/1945?

In those last 81 games the ledger is 38-40-3 pretty sure that is far from 2:1

I will freely admit that shite sucks arse and we should have a winning record over that piece of shite softball school but for the love of god if you want to talk shite about Texas I will join you as long as you bring the truth.

When you couch your shite in salacious lies you will be called out for the ignorant piece of scared excrement you are.

You lose! have a good day sir!
