5 highlights in Championship Games and on a season defining drive on 3rd down against Tennessee making incredible jump ball catches against NFL DBs, yea.

You know, since he hasn't proven he can do that, apparently.

I'm surprised he wasn't all-American with those 5 highlight(two years), I guess the rest of the reporters didn't get the ESPN Memo.

Iron Puppets claim : He hasn't proven he can make clutch catches in traffic or "go up for the ball"

Video : Making clutch catches to win games in the 4th quarter and clutch catches in traffic for touchdown in SEC Championship and Playoff Games in which he high points a ball and beats a defender.

Iron Puppets response : Well there are only 5 or so of them

Typical as typical can get

What's typical is that I'd bet money he thought Duke Williams was a top 50 player in 2015

And you provided the 5 highlight clips over a two year period and declared it as a consistent level of his production. Have you seen the Linnie Patrick clips from 30 years ago. There are 5 runs that you would claim he was the best running back in history. To bad it doesn't work or you could legitimately claim 16 NC.

Look at the Defenses he got most of those yards against:

So no performances count unless they are against Bama's D I guess because all other defenses suck.

Well Guice was 2 for 8 yds, 4.0 average. Not great but a lot of RBs have done worse like Pettway 12/17 1.4 average and LF did bad I know.

Him being fricking retarded doesn't take away from his ability. Of course he was a top 50 player. He was a top 50 player in 2014 despite missing a lot of action, too.

Suprised Fitz isn't on there. He's already set some new rushing records last year. I think he'll be ever better this year in the passing game.

Nobody argued about consistent production, and I haven't once argued he should be on this Top 50 list.

You claimed Ridley had not proven he could make clutch catches in traffic. That's patently false and was proven. Then you switch to some other argument to save face.

Again, typical.

What is typical is your failure to read. This is what I wrote:
You judge WR for their ability to make clutch catches. Those WRs who are not afraid to go over the middle and go up for a ball. Ridley might be that type of WR, but we haven't seen it yet. That is why I question top 50 status. Is that hard to understand ?

Read underline quotes. Even your highlight fail to show that. Two deep passes, two backshoulder passes and one over the middle where he knew he might get hit.

His injury last year could have hurt his chances. That and only being a true RB one year. If he stays healthy, I like his chances of being one of the top 50 players in football this year. For a big guy, he cuts well and has a nice burst of speed

Plus he will run you over if need be.

Lets see if he can stay healthy this year.

You literally said "you judge WR for their ability to make clutch catches". Then you put a period. Then you started another sentence.

All of those were huge catches at big times for touchdowns or to set up touchdowns in the biggest college football games on the planet.

Making clutch catches............period..........going over the middle and getting the ball.......period......are two separate statements.

He believes that Saban has never out coached anyone in a game before

Best to just leave this one alone

Followed by this sentence: Those WRs who are not afraid to go over the middle and go up for a ball. (continuation of thought).

What I forgot to add is going over the middle to make that 3rd and long catch when you know you are going to get hit. Of course that doesn't fit your narrative.

Clutch catches are defined by quite a bit more than going over the middle. Considering Ridley is a boundary receiver, not a slot receiver, his ability to go up and make physical catches in traffic down the sideline and down the field are his forte (plus running past people). He does that quite well.

I don't really know what narrative you think that is. Ridley has made more clutch catches in huge games than almost anybody in college football going into 2017. That doesn't make him the best player or receiver. If you have someone else in mind I'd be happy to see the plethora of footage.
