I don't think that is what is being reported.

Thats exactly what they're sayin. they said Cam called after he committed to AU and talked to MSU recruiters and said 'i woulda came to MSU, but the money was too good at AU"
C'mon man.

Again, at this juncture, MSU's employees would have everything to lose and nothing to gain by putting this out, especially if it turns out to be false or unsubstantiated.
Do you know how easily a kid and their family could be told that even talking with MSU recruiters and not going there could have them spewing lies about your son and family without regard for his future? That the only way to not get screwed is to avoid MSU all together?
Do some people realize how much that would destroy MSU's recruiting? There had better be proof to these allegations, and I am starting to think MSU isn't that stupid to just throw what they're building away over this shite.

'More than a scholarship' could mean the environment around the program has to be a positive influence. 'Because it was too much money' could mean they can drive down for the day to see Cam if he is in Auburn without having to get a hotel or spend much on gas.
I picture Lionel Hutz saying this.

WOW
Would be better if we knew for sure there were tapes but still, wow.
I actually don't want them to get the death penalty (and why would they, we bought a player and didn't. The only reason could be if they showed someone on the coaching staff knew, whereas our dumb frick boosters did it on their own)
But them getting seriously hammered wouldn't bother me a bit.

Same idiot who throws a laptop out of a window, gets 13 tickets in a year, lets his Dad make his college decision, and tells another schools recruiter over the phone the rival school paid for him. It makes perfect sense.

If what ESPN is reporting is true, how likely is it that MS State was also willing to pay Cam but was outbid. If Cam said, "the money was too much," that does not rule out that State was willing to pay him.
It would be fairly easy for State to send in evidence damning Auburn while failing to self-report.

The only thing that could make this better is if somehow, Alabama is involved.
