while i can easily see MSU putting money on the table, they'd have to be complete morons to open themselves up to this inquiry by reporting it and running with it

This would be equivalent to the moron that calls the cops to tell them someone stole my weed.

It SOUNDS to me like the Cam said "The money was to much" to a guy that OBVIOUSLY was in on MSU offering money to Cam. If MSU was not offering money because that is wrong then obviously you wouldn't be telling them that they got out bid.

MSU probably didn't rat on Cam as it drags them into the spotlight as well. Word slowly and finally spread to someone that leaked it much to the displeasure of everyone involved including MSU.

Just the way it SEEMS to have played out.

It was only a matter of time. All of Starkville has known about this for some time.

I don't think I do. Except the NCAA is so fickle. They don't investigate rumors. They only start an investigation once they have some sort of proof. But I still don't think I believe this.

It would be pretty naive to think that all the big programs aren't doing this.

This would be gold if Auburn has to vacate their wins and LSU wins out and plays for the NC versus Oregon and wins.

Robert Smith would probably commit suicide.

From Ben Leard's (former Auburn QB) facebook: Heard from a real source that Cam broke down in a team meeting about 30 mins ago and admitted that he did take the money. Trotter will start Saturday. Leard

Cannot verify its accuracy, so treat as a rumor, but wanted to share.

Well if and it really needs to be said IIFF something like this were to happen, it would also vacate AU win vs Arkansas and Miss St, as well as every other SEC game in which Newton played.

This means All SEC West teams and 3 SEC East teams "play" 7 conference games while the rest play 8. This is just fricking insane and all hell will break loose.

Of course, all of this could be mute and an ugly footnote if nothing happens against AU until next year or later depending on when any investigation by ncaa would finish up. Just look at the Bush situation.
