You do realize that recruits or their families trying to extort money from a university is also against NCAA bylaws right? You do realize that by asking for money outright they likely forfeited his amateur status right? I mean shite, if a kid signs a napkin saying AFTER he graduates he's signing with an agent, he's ineligible than don't you think asking to be paid on tape counts just as badly and admitting on tape that the money paid was too much to allow you to go to that school?

The soon to be Sanctioned Plagued Alabama Polytechnic Institute(SPAPI) is looking down the barrel of a gun.

Turns out to be true, we'll take our lumps and probation is on the horizon. Heads need to roll and we need to clean house though. This will completely mar the program for years to come.

Hope springs eternal I guess.

I didn't read this whole thread but will add this:

If the Newton's are cleared, which I think they will in the end, I hope that ESPN is forced to buy them Atlanta. These fricks are on a smear campaign big time and saying the first thing that pops into their tiny little heads.

If they are willing to use two Miss State recruiters as credible enough "sources" to run with a story then everyone at ESPN needs to die.

They're using phone conversations, that have already been handed over to the NCAA...get your head out of the sand.

An ironic statement.

Unless he's decided that the person(s) he's defending is/are garbage.

There will not be a money trail because churches can get away with little or no record keeping. Also no one should gloat about this. It hurts the whole SEC.

The NCAA also set the precedent in the SC case that if it's a higher profile player, the punishment is going to be greater.

Unless, of course, large amounts of building materials suitable for church fixin' were purchased with funds from a specific account following a large, traceable deposit.

Same here.

After reading Dennis Dodd's article last night about Slive covering a lot of violations in the conference from most of the schools.

And this eerily reminds me of the swac. One team got caught paying players, got a very stiff punishment, and the entire conference suffered.

I wasn't gloating...this is terrible if true. Does it suprise me?...No. Anyone that follows recruiting should've been wondering about some things. You don't go from recruiting barely in the Top 25, to recruiting Top 5 with a not so splashy Head coaching hire without something fishy going on IMO.

This is a runaway train of a story. The SEC needs to focus 100% NOW on these allegations or it could cost one of their schools a shot at the NC and all the $$ that comes with it. I can see voters taking their gut feelings to the polls and penalizing Aub for rumors alone.

They need to come out and say AUB is clean or AUB is dirty ASAP!

After the shafting we keep getting by the SEC refs on calls. I say frick the SEC. I no longer give two shits about this conference.

At least now we know where the "All In" slogan came from this year.

So he admits Cam is garbage like we have said since he signed with Auburn?

Ya'll have to remember, we said that about him even before we signed with Auburn so this is not an Auburn issue for many of us, it's a Cam thing.
