The gumps *were* a football school

Husky Harsin went 9-4 with the #1 talent composite

Our last NC was in 2020. We've won the SEC twice since then.

Gumps have assured me that only natties matter

NCs are most important, but when it comes to football pretty much everything matters.

Well espn bills itself as the world wide leader in sports, not the regional niche market leader in sports so maybe they’re just now hearing about it

Is that rhetorical? Which game last year didn't matter to you?

We aren't praying for a BB title since we are a football school. We won the SEC in 2023.

Nick Saban has retired and your current coach lost to Vanderbilt.

Alabama is a basketball school now.

The football team that didn't lose to Vanderbilt.

True, but you lost by 4 tds to the team that lost to Vandy. Maybe you don't realize that makes you look worse.

regional

You've probably never left Alabama, but I'll try to educate you. The teams playing in the CWS were located in various regions of the country.

UCLA - It's a school in California, which is a state on the West coast of the United States.

Oregon State - A school located in the Northwest portion of the US.

Murray State, Louisville - Located in Kentucky, two states north of Alabama.

LSU - located in Louisiana, on the Gulf Coast.

Coastal Carolina - a school in South Carolina. That's a state that borders the Atlantic Ocean, not the same ocean which borders California.

Arkansas - a state which is north of Louisiana.

Arizona - a school in a state by the same name, you'll find it in the far Southwest portion of the country

Maybe you dont realize that the transitive property is a weak argument for college football.

I dont know anyone besides Texas fans who would've disagreed with this even before last weekend?

I had Texas just above LSU before this weekend. I know 7 titles to 6, but I do think there is merit in finishing as a top 8 school as much as texas has

That said, 2 more titles makes that argument tougher, and LSU isnt like So Cal who has 12 but has been irrelevant for 20 years.

Congrats LSU, youve taken top spot in my books.

And we can go back to your "football" school losing to Vanderbilt.

Trying to argue the most successful program in college football history isn't a football school because they lost to Vandy is an interesting position to take.

Just like trying to argue a school with two heisman winners in the past 6 years and 3 natties in the past 22 years isn't a football school.
