BuckeyeFan it is kind of funny, but you know what's funnier? Last Big 10 National Championship in basketball: 2000. Number of SEC national champions since then 3. Last Big 10 National Championship in football: 2002. Number of SEC national champions since then: 8. Last Big 10 National Championship in baseball: 1966. Number of SEC national champions since then: 9.
I angered somebody.

I'd rather be in Ole Miss' spot with an 11 seed instead of an 8/9 seed.
Yeah if we make it this year I want no part of a 1 seed in the second round. We would have a much better chance (still small) of lasting deeper in the tourney

How's UNC doing this year BTW?
We suck, but we are in as of now.

And I knew that bat signal would get you.

You angered no one... truth hurts.

Meh, tired response. Might be more appropriate if I had not stated in the OP how horrible the SEC representation in the NCAA tournament was likely to be this year, so I'm certaintly not angered by your "

I did find those stats about the Big 10s complete irrelevance to college athletics incredibly funny though. Those stats are shocking. How do you explain the Big 10's irrelevance to college athletics and the irony of you laughing about the SEC's struggle in basketball this year given the Big 10s epic drought of winning anything?

You made a post I found humorous, I laughed.
You got upset with my post, researched a reply and sent it back with a zing.
You turned my simple laughter into a B1G vs SEC argument, which it clearly never was.
May I ask, with all the winning your school has accomplished recently, why you're upset enough that tSEC sucks at basketball that you turn my reply into a football/conference fight?

In 2009 the SEC had LSU (8), Tennessee (9) and Miss State (13).
LSU was snubbed... Had a 26-7 record and got an 8 seed... Played UNC better than anyone and should have beat the eventual champions.

I don't think your characterization addresses 2/3 of his argument. You are also vastly inferior in baseball, and while your conference is stronger in basketball, you still can't see to win championships at the rate that the SEC does.

You're proving my point against the OP, as none of this had anything to do with the initial post or my reply.
And, we don't play baseball.
At least not seriously.

I'm not upset at all, I'm trying to have a discussion with you. You, being a Big 10 fan I guess, find it humorous that the SEC (which has the defending national champs in basketball by the way) is bad in basketball. I tend to agree, it's funny.
But that just made me wonder how you feel about the Big 10's complete lack of success in the three major sports for the last decade (and last 40+ years in baseball). As bad as the SEC looks in basketball, it's been 13 years since the Big 10 won a championship and the SEC has had 3 since then (and it's even worse when you look at other major sports).

So, your "discussion" included nothing but negative points towards what you presume to be my identity(tB1G).
Seems more like an angry rebuttal to me.

My discussion included the facts. It's the topic (i.e., Big 10's relative futility even when compared to the SEC's worst sport) that supplied the "negative points." I can only work with the material that exists.
I know that wasn't exactly my original OP topic but your username just made me think of it. It's all in good fun. I really don't think anyone is angry - just poking a little fun at the Big 10 fan when discussing conference suckage.

We had an RPI in the 30's. A 7 seed was probably the best we could have hoped for.

Remember 2009, when we had an 8, 9, and 13 make the tournament?
At least this season is better thanks to UF.

Even though I don't really think that Bama has a beef (even if Villanova gets in) and I don't think it matters much when there are 68 teams, I do think the small selection committee in college football is a TERRIBLE idea for this very reason. It will introduce more bias into the system than there already is.
----------------------
It matters when 9-11 Big East teams get in every year then get the hell beat out of them.
Same with the MWC last year 4 or 5 teams all but 1 was gone by the first weekend.
