It'll be subtle at first.

The SEC will be annoyed when more league activity moves to Dallas, and more of their games are morning games.

It gets actually concerning long term when college sports inevitably becomes more & more professionalized. UT/ESPN will seek every asymmetric angle they can get their hands on. UT simply does not value partnership when they don't have to.

If it ruins college football then the sec will be done as a by product

That’s what everybody needs to be watching

Relax, this board will go back to trying to troll LSU like it does 90% of the time once the news has passed some and they get bored of shitting on the newbies

I don't think some of you realize how cozy Texas and ESPN are. I assume the Aggies on here probably already know, but the rest of us better get ready. ESPN controls Sankey and the conference now. ESPN will always put Texas in best situation for success at the expense of other schools. Best schedule, best TV times, best press for Texas.

Mizzou fans are very well aware of this...trying to tell y'all but most of you dolts won't listen

I don't want them, but it WILL be funny watching them realize how mediocre they really are. They'll struggle to finish 3rd or better in their division most years. When the Mississippi schools, Kentucky, and A&M all having winning records against them after year 3, it's going to provide a lot of entertainment.

By what standards does UT now run the SEC ? ESPN? They have'n won anything in decades, to the extent powerful Baylor & TCU passed them up in their own conference rankings. TV ratings? The LongHorn N is an abject failure that ESPN has been dying to get rid of. A lot of UT's stroke came from its alums' political power in Austin. That means squat, especially among the REC's alums in Birmingham. Wanna play dirty politics? Good, bad, or ugly, La. wrote that manual. UT was so strong, and got away with bullying the BIG 12, because there was no one strong enough to put up a fight. Neb. took its ball / s & left town. A league of political pussies. Tell us the name of your league commish....no one ever heard of him. Everyone knows Sankey, especially ESPN. And from LSU's perspective, Scott Woodard is no pussy himself.

In case you didn’t realize it, since 2000 Texas is like 6th in wins in The Bi12. That means OK , OKST, Baylor, Houston, Texas tech all have better records. They were irrelevant in the Big12 and will be more so in the SEC.

Easy solution. Fans outside of austin shouldn't watch their games. Unless your team is playing

Ahh so Texas isnt even in the conference and it's already calling all the shots? Going all in on the Texas is the boogeyman narrative, I see.
Maybe we should ask the SWC? Oh, wait, that's right, you blew that place up years ago. Well, let's check with the Big 12. But hurry up, because that conference won't be around in a few years either.

This would be your third conference in 27 years. I wonder why some people would view your cancerous program with trepidation?

For all those not paying attention in the SEC, MurphyGator is 100% spot on in his prediction of what will happen with Texas!

But what he is not explaining is that ESPN is not an academic place so other than hiring graduates they don’t give a damn about academics, they only care about cash! And guess what school in the new adaptation of the SEC will have more cash by multiples than any other school in the conference? Yup, that would be Texas, and you can say a lot about Texans “and we do lol” but one thing is fo sho. Texans understand what their money will leverage and they use it to their benefit every time!

They will control everything eventually, because they can buy everything! It is truly that simple.

I don’t like this at all it has ruined amateur sports, but amateur sports are no longer amateur it is huge business! And in business the business with the most cash is usually King. You will see the change start to happen within 5 years and within 10 years the metamorphosis will be complete! Watch and see, this isn’t a complicated formula “whoever has all the cash, is King” it is that simple. Which Texans understand very well. Why do you think so many Texans are on this board popping off when their football team literally hasn’t done shite in 15years? Because they know, it is about “what’s in your wallet” and they know their wallet is bigger than anyone else’s!

It will be kinda fun watching Bama try and hold onto the thrown, but my prediction is Saban retires in 5 years right as the power has shifted to Texas running the show.

If it's THAT simple & all it takes is money, why has UT done anything in the pathetically weak BIG 12? They've had all that money & "leverage" for yrs, why has their record in much weaker conference locked them into 6th place in the conference's ratings? If ESPN loves them so much it will sell its soul, why has it been trying to find a way out of that contract? BEEN trying? That wallet sure hasn't done zip in what.....15 yrs you say? And, FWIW, the aggies have a pretty large wallet themselves. What has their money bought them? Money is king, right, money is money, right? Let UT line up, week end after weekend , against Okla, LSU, O.Miss, the aggies, Miss. State on its odd good yrs, just to get the right to play bama, AU, Fla. UGA...and let's see what all that money buys them at the end of the season. The Pecan Weedeater Bowl In Shreveport on Dec. 1. Color me not scared.
