I liked it. Thought for a second there at the end they were going to go down the "Nothing has changed" route.

I meant it as an honest question.

I was attempting to give you an honest answer. Just showing that Alabama had its issues too and that program seems to be doing alright.

However, maybe Ole Miss ends up carrying the stigma moreso than the other schools because of this.

There may be a degree of truth here, but it is in Mississippi (which is the posterchild of a lot of the "bad") and they call themselves the "Rebels." I'm just saying, it's an easy target if they were the "test run" or not.

The documentary did make me look at Ole Miss slightly differently. I thought Wright did a vey good job with a topic he seems personally invested in. The ending also does a good job of pulling it all together

As a former student there, I thought they did a great job.

Ole Miss carries it more than others because they were waving the Rebel flag and shouting "The South will rise again" at games. That doesn't happen at LSU or Bama games. Ole Miss "lived up" to the stigma more than anyone else.

Food for thought, since they seemed to be looking to reform all the ole miss traditions such as: flag, mascot, song, school name etc... Why isnt our mascot ever scrutinized? Aren't we named after a group of confederate soldiers? I guess we can hide behind the animal scapegoat.

"Tigers" is a common mascot that you can easily dismiss. Rebel is not.

I enjoyed this one. All of my family is from Mississippi and relatives are entrenched in state history. As a fan of Southern history, I feel Wright did a good job overall. I did not know about the 1962 football team. The students today that say the south will rise again are some frat stars acting a fool. No need for that.

I thought it was poignant when the student body pres said "I refuse to let one person define Ole Miss." She basically told the rest of the nation to not let the dumb-assed minority of bigots shape your opinion of the school.

Like me, I hate Ole Miss because I think their fans are dick bags, not because I think they're racist.

As my grandmaw has told me before I was a different time and there were some mean hateful people back during those times.

Well the same thing exist these days but until recently have been concealed quite a bit more. It is amazing what the election of a minority President can bring back to the surface though.

I wonder how people would've reacted if that 62 Ole Miss team had played a team like USC in a bowl, who had black players, and then got their asses handed to them?

I guess it's not as in your face as the rebel flag, mascot & south will rise again talk"

I'm still sticking to my guns on the fact that Ole Miss should have never gotten rid of Colonel Reb.

This.

Wright Thompson seemed like a pussy to me. Other than that it was good. It looked like some people in the Grove were eyeballing him.

I thought it was really good. I didn't know the part about all of the ole miss students except four going to fight in the war and being killed or injured at Gettysburg. It's a great reason to remember and respect them by being the rebels.

They may have been fighting on what is now easily seen as the wrong side of the war, but that doesn't make their sacrifice any less.

Those opposing Dixie, the flag, and colonel reb are silly. Those things can be symbols and reminders of the history of
what was both right and wrong with the south at the same time.

Good 30 for 30 though.
