"Defended" may be a little bit of a stretch.

1st offense. Knocked a guy out from behind after running up when the guy was leaving. CONVICTED of this assault.

Arrested a 2nd time for violence in a domestic disturbance. Grow up and see that these situations have nothing to do with being a football player and have everything to being a thug. Which shouldn't be rewarded with free schooling and the benefits a Div I player gets.

Or a lying girlfriend.

But, he has had too many chances to get the privilege of playing college football. If he has changed, then he should get his degree and get a job like other upstanding citizens.

I'm somewhat glad he is back on the team. I think he has a little son so hopefully he can get a degree and get a job soon.

Agree with this. It seems as though the haters on this board are a bunch of whiney bitches.

Nope. I am going to take an educated guess that someone who has been arrested for assault twice and assaulted a player from another team, in my opinion, is a thug though. Sorry.

Right. He plead guilty. Once he did, he was convicted of assault.

Or, based on his behavior before and on the field in the NC game, it's likely he did it again. Chiz, if he does let him back, is simply enabling him to continue his destructive behavior by basically saying, we need you too bad on the field. Please, please be good. He's not had to pay a price for any of his actions.

If Eric Smith played for the University of Alabama, and the facts as they are right now were the same other than being on a different team...how would you feel about him?

Someone bump all the threads Of garrison and others calling LSU, UF, UGA, and Bama players thugs for much lesser crimes that never ended in an arrest.

I love seeing hypocrites take a good dose of reality.
