I wonder how this affects the eligibility of players, will they be able to apply for another year?

This will hurt a lot players trying to make an impression for the pros.

ETA: This is meant mostly for the baseball players who haven't even started SEC play.

No one in charge has thought that far ahead yet. This is going to be a logistical nightmare after all is said and done.

The draft will still happen. It won't be an event though like it normally is. It will be a few guys on conference calls in a board room

For basketball? No. The regular season ended.
For baseball? They should hand out an extra year of eligibility.

They are eligible to be students.

Sorry, athletics are done in college.

That would really frick over incoming freshmen for baseball unless the NCAA somehow didn’t cap the roster for that one year

Part of me thinks this is the reason they cancelled the NCAA tournament instead of postponing it until May.

All of the one & done players, and a lot of upperclassmen basically blow off school this time of year. They’re still eligible until the Spring semester ends.

Imagine the cluster frick if the tournament was held in May, and teams had to suspend players in the middle of the tournament as Spring grades started rolling in, and the star players hadn’t attended class since February.

Baseball 100% should not count towards eligibility.

They didn’t even get to conference play.

Basketball played way too many games IMO. The regular season was over.

It’s not fair but it is more understandable IMO

not going to matter for the good players. I don't expect to see our juniors and draft eligible sophomores play again regardless if the NCAA grants them another year. shite sucks

Just give the seniors one last year of eligibility if they want to come back. Anyone who wants to go pro can go pro but give them the option. Who knows what will happen though this is truly unprecedented.

90% of the players only had one or two games left.

In that case why not waive those requirements just this once?

I was just talking about this. What happens to all of the athletes that had their seasons cut short? I honestly believe that they should be given another year of eligibility.
