B. I'm sure there is language in his contract that makes him the highest paid coach in the country if he wins the national title. That is in most coach contracts.

1.5 M in incentives. He maxes out at 5 M per the reports ive read. He wouldn't sniff top tier.

Will you people make up our minds?

Everyone on the board laughed when LSU hired the DL coach to be HC, and thought he was overpaid.

Now people are thinking he's a hot commodity?

Jesus, is this board dumb.

If he finishes the season as we all expect, he'll get a raise.

will Lsu pony up and pay him with the top tier coaches or are they in danger of having him poached this offseason?

Orgeron is doing a good job but LSU can have success with a lot of coaches.

I'm sorry you are going to die before A&M finds "the right guy".

They both have the same number of SEC championships and SEC West 1st place finishes

Makes sense to me. Two unaccomplished coaches in a pod.

The Aggie obsession with LSU’s finances continues.

Ordered by a federal judge to pay Chavis’ buyout and LSU’s attorneys fees.

Lost a bidding war with LSU for Dave Aranda.

Lost their AD to LSU over a $200,000 raise.

Poor aggies. At least the Jimbo Fisher hire is already paying dividends. If the aggies can go 3-0 this November, they’ll secure their second-straight nine-win season.

Worth every penny.

Dude he wouldn’t go to Arkansas lol. First off LSU would match it and secondly Arkansas is a complete shite show right now. The Hogs are in a real bind with their program, like potentially being in the gutter for a very very long time kind of bind. I actually feel bad for Hog fans.

No, I am perfectly happy with Jimbo for now.

However, someone like FSU or Arkansas could easily top 3.5 M and pull Ed away. They would also be willing to give him a deal for more than 3 years

For what Ed had done prior to getting this job, and what the market was for him, he is perfectly compensated with his contract. It may change after this year, but don’t pretend we are robbing O based on the suitors he had and the record he has prior to getting this job.

Lost in all of this is the true shame that the highest paid public officials in the southeast are generally football coaches.

Revenue these teams pull in rarely make its way back to the general fund for these schools. Very sad.

Meanwhile in the northeast, the highest paid people are those who make a true difference in our universities and student's lives.

Bread and circuses (or beer and football) is more important down here than substantive change.

This . . I am happy for Coach O as he seems like one of the good guys but he is 3 months removed from being the backup choice whose previous experience was leading Ole Miss to an 0-8 conference record.

He probably jumped for joy at the contract offer.

Coach got a bump and extension at the end of last season, I believe. He's at $4mill per now.

Morris is making $4MM this season, he got a $500K bonus in the Spring.

If LSU was smart they’d wait until after next season to restructure/increase his pay. Our frickhead president negotiated Gus’s contract and we are fricked all because Gus beat Georgia & Alabama with an experienced roster in 2017. Coach O is better than Gus but I think if O struggles next year they’d have better leverage when negotiating.
