He's tied in 8th in the SEC. Even guys like Minnesota's PJ Fleck and Illinois Lovie Smith have a larger salary than Ed's based on his relatively new deal.

If he can pull off this magical season, will Lsu pony up and pay him with the top tier coaches or are they in danger of having him poached this offseason?

It's essentially a flatter structure with his assistants being paid more than just about anywhere else. I actually expect to see more shrimp boat captains duplicate this structure in the future. It makes a lot of sense and helps you keep the people that actually call the game.

Something maybe ATM should have considered before giving $75MM to a dinghy boy.

Coach got a bump and extension at the end of last season, I believe. He's at $4mill per now.

But that will likely change again after this season.

Your title is not valid. Chad Morris will be unemployed soon.

No, I am perfectly happy with Jimbo for now.

However, someone like FSU or Arkansas could easily top 3.5 M and pull Ed away. They would also be willing to give him a deal for more than 3 years.

No chance he ever leaves LSU willingly. That's his swamp.

Was wondering how you were gonna turn this into a mediocre troll, and you didn't fail! Thanks.

Crazy that we're talking about another school potentially poaching Ed Orgeron.

Ed Orgeron is all LSU, Aggies found out you can’t buy happiness.

For some reason this make me picture Coach O as Shrek. Made me chuckle.

A. No one will go after Orgeron.

B. I'm sure there is language in his contract that makes him the highest paid coach in the country if he wins the national title. That is in most coach contracts.

What a world we live. Now LSU has to worry about teams coming in and stealing Coach O from us

So if Arkansas offers a contract of 5 years at 25 M (1.5 M raise per year) he'd turn it down? because its his swamp?
