sec basketball stat leaders
Super early for these stats but just for fun ,here they are .
I'm Impressed with cam thomas from LSU and what hes doing as a Freshman so far.
Also ,trendon Watford is a better passer then I expected him to be. How often are forwards among the league leaders in assists, even this early in the season?
What do all of our teams basketball fans think of there teams so far?
Maybe we can get a feel for what to expect in conference. Most people only follow there team in depth

Looked good our first game, but it’s Oral Roberts so who cares.
Play a ranked Oregon team tonight so should have a better idea. We’ve got a decent amount of talent and a ton of size and experience. Really good guards and a potentially dominant big (if he can stay on the floor). It’s weird because this should be a no excuses year for Clownzo but with Covid who knows how many games we’ll even get to play

Sahvir Wheeler is the most underrated player in the SEC.

It was North Texas, but Connor Vanover was the first SEC player since Anthony Davis with 16 rebounds and 6 blocks in a game.
Not bad company.

Is averaging 6 assist per game 10 rebounds a game and 15 -20 ppg ,as a forward, as impressive as it seems .
I'm guessing on the rebounds and points but it's got to be really close to that for Watford.
It's kinda strange ,like the other night, in our first game, people in the game thread were talking about how watford was soft and was struggling bad, then you look after the game and hes got 7 9 and 13 and that was his lowest output of the 3 games weve played
Then you have cam thomas going for 27 ,in his first ever college game .days goes for 24 with 5-5 on 3s before a miss.
In the 2 nd game cam has 25 and the last game 21.
So on offense you can see that we can score ,if we get our best defender back from injury and our rim protector eligible after the semester ends, and if they end up being defensive game changers ,as expected then weve got a hell of a team.
Being as objectively unbiased as possible, I'll say that, with those guys back ,and even a slight improvement on d then lsu will be a sweet 16 or even elite 8 quality team that will be in the hunt for the regular season sec championship until the very last weeks of the season

Where's that Kentucky fan that said Arkansas' "bad" 3-point shooting would end up getting us beat?

Lol @ Arkansas fans writing off North Texas. They are legit.

Haven't most teams played 1, maybe 2 games at most?

Rock - what's up with Arkansas' schedule? Did you guys have some games/tournaments canceled?

Yeah, was supposed to play Louisville and San Fran in Vegas. As well as Oklahoma in Tulsa. Had to rebuild alot of the schedule
It isn't sexy but 3-5 of the teams we play will be competing for their conference so could be solid by February. Sort of reminds me of the Auburn schedule of last year but not as good.
Seems like they also went more for locking games in place instead of leaving stuff open for late adjustments.

Ah, yea, I mean that's a huge difference. 2 of your main big P5 games and a very good mid-major game going away is a kick to the nuts.

Kentucky
They had someone in the game thread last night say “well, we’ll still win the SEC but...” The frick you will! The only redeeming quality of their team right now is their length and athleticism on defense and the boards. It’s a typical roll the ball out and let them play Cal team and this one can’t shoot to save their fricking lives

In looking at all of those stats...
Arkansas look really, really good. But it is early...
trajectory and all!

A&M is dominating.
Looks like another SEC title this year in BB for the Ags.

Glad to see some Missouir Tigers on that list.
Here's hoping CCM gets the team rolling this year.
