He blocked a punt as a freshman against Arkansas that sealed the deal and it was 4 years of Tyler Rose misery for the hogs after that.

Earl is probably the toughest dude ever.
Worked the east Texas fields in 5th grade to take care of his mom and eleven siblings (didn’t even own socks). Played running back like no one i have ever seen- four back surgeries, both knees replaced, etc.

He recently compared current play in the NFL to professional wrestling.

That's targeting. Clearly wouldn't have survived in todays game to even play a full season.

Earl was my hero growing up. I met him at a FCA function when I was a young boy. He was a soft spoken, polite, God fearing man. What I remember most about meeting him was one thigh was bigger than my waist. I still have the issue of Football Digest when he was on the cover his rookie year.

I have too much respect for both EC and Sweetness to argue for or against one.

They were both just flat out awesome.

Like Mark Ingram against Auburn in 2009 or against LSU in 2008?

Better than Sweetness. I said it and I mean it.
Totally different kind of runner...same for Barry Sanders.
